INTRODUCTION

Sex is a major theme amoung all of creation, yet many people shy away from discussing it, especially in Church. GOD Allows sex amoung couples within the context of marriage. So, GOD designed us with the capacity for sexual feelings and with a strong urge to seek satisfaction of sexual needs. Most importantly, this makes it possible for mankind to fulfill God`s purpose of procreation and populating the earth. But sexual feelings or desire often generate such strong emotions that, if not controlled, make people do things that are regrettable, shameful or hurtful both to themselves and others. In essence, the sex drive in humans works like a machine. Any machine that has the capacity to generate such powerful motion needs to have start-and-stop functions and a central brake system. This would prevent accidents that could harm the direct operators as well as others.
The focus of today`s discussion is to share biblical principles for managing the sex drive.

DISCUSSION

1) From media and other sources, we have heard of how men and women, even Christians, get involved in sex scandals and the like. In your view what do you this is responsible for such?

2) Sex has physical, emotional and spiritual components. We need to understand these sufficiently and know how to keep our sex drive in control at all times. As Christians, we have Gods word and the Holy Spirit o help us. The following are tips on how to successfully manage our desire for sexual activity:
a) Let your understanding about sex be guided by the Word of GOD. Psalms 1:1-3
b) Avoid undue exposure to materials that can arouse your sex drive. Proverbs4:23
c) Depend on the Holy Spirit in managing your sexual emotions. Galatians 5:23,Eph 5:18
d) Know that the only license to sex is within the context of marriage. Hebrews 12:4
e) If you have made any mistake, ask GOD for forgiveness and move on

CONCLUSION

The things we see around us these days can easily make many go astray and struggle in the area of their sexuality. Many people are also hurting and wounded due to the reckless, indiscriminate or uncontrollable sexual behavior of others. Like everything else, GOD created sexual emotions in us as a good thing to serve a glorious purpose. It is the abuse that is damaging. As the light of the World, the Holy Spirit helps us to control the sex drive and manage our sexuality. You will succeed in Jesus Name.
