Cause of the issue ranges from intake restrictions ,exhaust restriction, fuel ,to ignition.
U can swap the complete sensors and actuators in your car and the cause will still remain elusive.

it may be a dirty MAF or a fuel delivery problem, also ma sure you air filter and fuel filter is sound. You need to view your car's fuel trim data to know, just make sure your mech knows what he is doing.
