In Nigeria's debut appearance at the football event of the Olympic games of the 1968 edition hosted by Mexico,Japan was the first team Nigeria faced in a Group B match which was played on 14th October 1968.The match ended in a 3-1 loss for Nigeria.The draws for the 2016 edition were concluded a couple of hours ago and Nigeria will again engage Japan in Group B which will also mark the curtain raiser for Nigeria at this year's Olympics.
