WHO BEWITCHED BAYELSA BY AGINIGHAN WAREKIYE

This is governor Dickson of Bayelsa State arriving from God knows where, but he sure landed at the Osubi airport in Delta state, an airport built by the Delta state government, If the governor has quietly used the airport I wouldn’t be making a fuss about it, but no, he didn’t. There was a mammoth crowd of political jobbers waiting to receive him, when he has not thought it right to complete the airport in the sate despite the huge allocation he had received in the previous administration plus the good intergovernmental relations he must have enjoyed judging from the fact that the past president hailed from the same state he governed.
You see chiefs in the photograph with their full regalia, elders who cannot say the truth because money is involved. The singular reasons our chiefs in the south-south are treated like trash, is as a result of their greed. Go to the west. The governor waits for the king and if the king gives the governor an appointment at particular time and he didn’t meet up, he just has to schedule another meeting but in the case of the south-south our kings and chiefs have so belittle themselves to the point that they could lie than on the ground for the Governor to walk pass, what a shame.
As long as I am concern. There is no more government in Bayelsa state as The Niger Delta University has been the only legacy project in the state but the governor is so pained that the project is not situated in Sagbama local government area hence he is hell bent on closing it down.
Even the IYC who is supposed to oppose this move has gone mute because it has gone political. The IYC is quick to condemn Amechi for suggesting that the Maritime University be closed down in Delta but it has not issued any statement concerning the closure of NDU because Dickson is the source they feed from. So majority of the ijaws have to suffer at the benefit of a few? What a shame that our people now prefer Darkness to light.
Bayelsa state is the only state in Nigeria where there is no state institution because the governor is aware that enlightened minds would ask questions, so in order to further enslave the people, it is better they illiterates’ right?
In case you forget Mr. Governor, you ought to be a servant to the people. Stop acting like colonial lord and do as your masters have bid you to do. You do not have tenure as governor but would Bayelsans vote your son, your brother or any member of your family? knowing fully well that there was a time somebody told them that it is better they remain illiterates. There was a time somebody told them they would not eat. Somebody told them having an airport in Bayelsa state is a luxury.
So many things I want to say but time will not permit. Please when next you want to use OSUBI airport sneak in and out as Majority of Bayelsans wish they had an airport, it is shameful for their governor to be posing in the airport built by another state government.

mr please what will be the economic importance of an airport in the marshlands of yenegoa abi mbiama? Ph owerri and delta airports are not far from balyelsa from different directions. Bayelsa needs roads brigdes healthcentres etc and not airport. Bayelsa is a virgin land that needs basic amenities not airports. Smh for you

Educationally, Is it the first time a sch is going on strike in Nigeria. Did OAU and majority of schools not go on 9months strike at a time. Do u think, the government is doing nothing to salvage it? Yes d state has a Fed Uni, Fed Poly, Sch of Education, Sch of Nursing, Law Sch; they av created environment for University of Africa(Private Uni).

The IYC and the Governor has said anybody u see saying it's Avengers or perpetrating evil should be reported to the security operatives. So they are working.

I know Dickson has failed as a governor dis second term cos of salary payment and how much he has received; nobody is praising him.
