We, the Nigerian youths, have known sarcasm and insults, endured blows morning, noon and night....we have seen that the law is quite different for the rich than for the poor: accommodating for the former, cruel and inhuman for the latter.

We have seen the terrible suffering of those of us banished to the remotest sphere of life because of their political opinions or religious beliefs; exiled within their own country, their fate truly worse than death itself

We cannot forget the volleys of depression in which our brothers and sisters perished, and the sufferings of those who dared to raise a voice....the cells where the authorities threw those who would not submit to a rule where justice means oppression and exploitation

The Nigerian youths want a just share in the whole of Nigeria, we want a security and a stake in society. Above all, we want equal political rights, because without them our disabilities will be permanent. I know this sounds revolutionary to the old politicians in this country, because the majority of leaders will be youths. This makes the old guard fear this movement. But fear cannot be allowed to stand in the way of the only solution which will guarantee harmony and freedom for all.

So long as I live, I'm committed to the struggle of the Nigerian youth. I have cherished the ideal of a democratic and free society in which all persons live together in harmony and with equal opportunities. This is an ideal which I hope to live for and achieve. But if needs be, it is an ideal for which I am prepared to die.

Nigeria inherited a colonial economy...we cannot rest until we have demolished this miserable structure and raised in its place an edifice of economic stability, thus creating for ourselves a veritable paradise of abundance and satisfaction....we must go forward with our preparations for planned economic growth to supplant the poverty, ignorance, disease and illiteracy left in the wake by discredited and decaying imperialism. Socialism is the only pattern that can within the shortest possible time bring the good life to the people.

My vision of socialism is a system where there will be no unemployed, and there will be no multimillionaires.....a system where there will be no beggars, and where each will eat if hungry

There's need for an overthrow of the entire system- Violent or non-violent

Check this:

Violence alone, violence committed by the people, violence organised and educated by its leaders, makes it possible for the masses to understand social truths and gives the key to them. Without that struggle, without that knowledge of the practice of action, there's nothing but a fancy-dress parade and the blare of trumpets. There's nothing save a minimum of readaptation, a few reforms at the top, a flag waving; and down there at the bottom an undivided mass, still living in the middle ages, endlessly marking time.

On a national level, violence helps nation-building, it unified people, providing 'a cement mixed with blood and anger'. It also benefited individuals. At the level of individuals, violence is a cleansing force. It frees the native from his inferiority complex and from his despair and inaction; it makes him fearless and restores his self-respect.

I believe fervently in the coming Nigerian revolution.

There can only be one reason for the formation of such opposition parties in a country like ours- the desire to imitate the political structures of a totally dissimilar society. What is more, the desire to imitate where conditions are not suitable for imitation can easily lead us into trouble. To try and import the idea of a parliamentary opposition into Nigeria, once again, may very likely lead to violence- because the opposition parties will tend to be regarded as traitors by the majority of our people, or, at best, it will lead to the trivial manoeuvrings of "opposing" groups whose time is spent in the inflation of artificial difference into some semblance of reality "for the sake of preserving democracy". The latter alternative, I repeat, is an over-sophisticated pastime which we in Nigeria cannot afford to indulge in; our time is too short and there is too much serious work to be done.

Have you stop to pay mind to this fact?

Much of what is going on in Nigeria is fully explained in terms of the normal lust of human beings for power and wealth. The stakes are high. Office carries power, prestige and money. The power is incredible. Most government officials consider themselves to be above the law, and are treated as such. Decision-making is arbitrary. Decisions which more advanced countries leave to civil servants and technicians are here made by the Executive, often without consulting expert advice.

The prestige is incredible. Men who claim to be democrats in fact behave like emperors.
And the money is also incredible. Successful politicians receive, even if only elected to parliament, salaries two to four times more than they previously earned, plus per diem allowances, travelling expenses and other fringe benefits. There are also vast pickings in bribes, state contracts, diversion of public funds to private uses, and commissions of various sorts. To be a minister is to have a lifetime's chance to make a fortune.

We all know that this corrupt cabal of Nigerians in power has friends abroad who not only help it move the billions abroad and help them hide the money, but also shield the perpetrators from prosecution.
