All, I read all of 'em.

Though first readings were under some whip on my head (without understanding or comprehending what I was reading).

Subsequent readings at the right age were with much more better understanding, pronunciations and comprehension (this time, without any whip dropping o my head).

The only books I remember reading in primary school was Eze goes to school, Eze goes to college, and The incorruptible judge.

I don'k now if The gods are not to blame was part of the curriculum in jss1, I didn't read it during the first semester.
First semester In secondary school oops!

I've read everything except Zambia Shall be Free and Jagua Nana.

What of The Lion and The Jewel by Wole Soyinka?
That was where I learnt my first big grammar that I used to yab people in Primary school.

I can still remember parts of it sef (From Lakunle the school teacher)-
"A savage culture.... barbaric, outdated, rejected, denounced, accursed, excommunicated......"

Once anybody vexed me that time, I would use it to scatter the person's head. grin grin grin

Re: Which Of These Did You Read? by oglalasioux(m): 6:57am On Aug 09, 2016
Wow. Read all, except Jagua Nana, even before I finished junior secondary school.
Re: Which Of These Did You Read? by frozenSun(m): 6:59am On Aug 09, 2016
My dad taught me how to read these books and quote the characters just the way most people learn how to quote the Bible. He gave me my first copy of THINGS FALL APART before I was 7 years old.

If you went to FGC then you should have read these books. I was always going to the library to avoid punishment and some work so I kept reading these books.

Then you get to read the works of William Shakespeare.

I wonder what kids are reading now.
