Please i have an Infinix Hot4 Device x557 running 5.0 Marshmarllow working perfectly. i rooted it successfully by myself using online Guides.
Now i have a problem, i have received a notification that there is a new OS Update for my device and i am asked to download and install.

I have read somewhere that Updating a roooted device can destroy the device.

Please what do i do. What are my options. Can i Unroot, Update, and then re-Root again?

Also, If i have to go through the above process, will i lose any of my data and files on my device?

and 3, is Nougat Android 7.0 available for the x557 Infinix Hot 4? if it is, how stable is it? and will i be able to re-Root my device on Nougat if i upgrade, using the Marshmallow root process?

Hi @gbolio4 You definately have to unroot your phone before running the update. Back up your files just in case. Please, do not root your device again after getting the update. It's not great for your phone.
