'Amina Zakari and INEC just made it known that Tai results will be released. They had a meeting today with stakeholders of APC, PDP and other political parties.

And that elections can't be this August and not in September too, because of Edo and Ondo elections.

So that they are looking at October for any possible elections in Rivers State, but that everyone has to first of all agree to it'.


'Yes, the independence electoral commission (Inec) has gone ahead to announcing the results of the cancelled election of Tai local govt area in Rivers state. We want the general public to know that the PDP family in Tai are very strong and resolute that we have a good case against this declarations from INEC.there was no election in Tai on the 19th of march,2016.

Yes we will prove our case in the court against all odd and victory is sure.. This is a clear subversion of the will of the people and we will not allow it to stand.. This is impunity of the highest order but it will not succeed.

We therefore reaffirm our unalloyed support and confidence in our leaders:DR JACOBSON NBINA,HON.SYLVER NGBAR,HON DEEMOR GIDEON etc as they take steps in putting to an end this abnormally, and caution this hydra headed monster and tyrant who is poised at gaining political powers through the back door.
The declaration is clear that we can correct the wrong from the court and there we are going with our evidences...we are fully persuaded and ready to stop this impunity'.

RIVERS RERUN! BREAKING NEWS

INEC accepts Tai Result of the last rerun election.

The implication is that Magnus Abe, Barry Mpigi and Mathew Dike all of APC have over 35,000 votes over and above their PDP counterparts who have between 2000 to 3000 votes.

Elections never actually took place in Rivers State. PDP won mostly because Amaechi refused to tow the line of fire for fire using his own thugs. Had it been Amaechi was mean there will be no peace as he had the capabilities of creating and arming his own groups to engage in endless clash but he chose peace. He should be appreciated for that.

despite the questionable source of this story, I'm still awed by Amaechi's avuncular humanness at putting Rivers first before personal discomfort from a rogue who cared less about the folks he had wanted to rule? by force. the immensity of Amaechi's power he refused to deploy despite the ultra provocation. God knows there were no elections in Rivers .

Nice one. In 2015 wike and mama p1ss manufactured 1.4 million votes when there were no result sheets in most of the polling units. So why are they crying now? I know that the tai results were heavily rigged for the apc but who cares? Karma is a biiitch. Thank goodness this election appeal ends at the appeal court. Wike and co can go and die.

The Independent National Electoral Commission has finally decided to uphold the results of the rerun elections declared in Tai Local Government Area of Rivers State.

The Resident Electoral Commissioner, ANIEDI IKOIWAK made the declaration during a political stakeholders meeting at INEC Secretariat on Aba Road in Port Harcourt.

IKOIWAK said the decision by INEC was final, adding that any political party or candidate that was not comfortable with the resolution should seek redress in court.

However; our correspondent LEVI ISU who has been monitoring proceedings at the meeting, reports that the INEC decision on the rerun in Tai did not go down well with leaders of the PDP who were also present at the meeting.

The problem here is English. Inec never cancelled the election. They only suspended it but I guess the PDP didn't understand it that way. But if you look closely at the release from Inec at the time as posted here, there was no mention of cancellation but suspension and now the suspended election has been concluded. Now, the question will be at what stage was the election suspended? Is it during vote casting, during result collation or on/before result announcement? If it is during vote casting or result collation, PDP might have a case but if it is after result collation or during result announcement then they have no case. PDP's best bet is to seek redress at the tribunal if they feel shortchanged. But one thing i know for sure is that the constituency in question is a very strong hold of APC in Rivers State.
