An ecstatic Jay-Jay joined Julius Aghahowa in an acrobatic display after Julius scored the third goal in the 4-0 thrashing of Sudan in a make or mar World Cup qualifier back in 2001. I Remember that match vividly. After Aiyegbeni scored the 4th goal, news just filtered in that Ghana beat Liberia 2-1 in Monrovia. That confirmed Nigeria as group leaders in the World cup qualifying group with one more home match with Ghana remaining. Everyone was overjoyed. Oliseh ditched Nigeria in that match thinking we would not win.That ended Oliseh's Captaincy and International carrier.Great memories. Trying to remember when The Eagles gave Nigeria such joy lately. |
