I once slept over in a house with pvc ceiling and then it started to rain. Omg!!! I thought it was a major major rainstorm with the roof about to crash.

I opened the window expecting to see torrential rainfall with everywhere flooded. Lo and behold, it was mere drops/tickles of rain. I couldn't sleep the entire night because of the sound from the pvc ceiling.

I know abestos is dangerous but if it was down to cost, I will go with "undisturbed" abestos anyday anytime over pvc ceiling.

First house, i used the conventional wooden board. It requires painting at last and that is more cost. At that time, the plastic board was still new in town and not many designs.

Now, i dont bother looking the way of the wooden boards. Plastic boards are the game.

Very correct.

Use POP or the wood ceiling board. They are durable. Please avoid asbestos at all cost. Though it's the cheapest, it is also carcinogenic ie it can cause cancer
