Guardiola does not want his players to think they are Invincible Pep Guardiola is not buying into the idea that Manchester City are unbeatable and insists any team is capable of defeating the Premier League pacesetters. "Anyone can beat us, that is the principle in all of sport. "It doesn't matter what happened in the past. You can win the Champions League then lose the day after – that is football, sport, basketball. "All the others want to beat you. They [Arsenal] deserve all credit [for] trying to beat us. It depends on us. It's so important if we want to fight more to win the title in comparison to last season. "Against the big teams, the five or six contenders, last season we won just twice – at Old Trafford, and here against Arsenal. "Now in November we won already three times [against the bigger clubs]. We spoke and if you want to win the Premier League, you need to beat Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, Man United, Tottenham - all the others at the top too. "But you have to win at home – it's so tough away. If you are stable, not thinking stupid things, winning helps to win more. Our position is good - we have to continue that rhythm." |

Guardiola claims Alexis Sanchez is top-class Guardiola spoke highly of the Chile international and his performance. "Alexis is a top-class player, really competitive," the Catalan coach said. "All the problems he caused in the first half were our main headache - he's a really good player." |

Man City unstoppable...if they keep getting big ref decisions - Wenger Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger says Manchester City will be unstoppable if they keep receiving contentious refereeing decisions in their favour. "Can anyone stop them? It will be difficult, the run they're on, the quality they have, they'll be difficult to stop," he said. "You never know, but if on top of that the decisions they [receive], they will be unstoppable." "You have seen what I have seen, you judge it how you want. I think that [the fact] you tell me it's an offside goal shows enough. "I don't want to take anything away from their quality but it happened at a moment we were in the game at 2-1, it killed the game. It's the second time it's happened, two offside goals last year and now one this year." |

Guardiola refusing to compare City to Barca and Bayern Pep Guardiola insists it is too soon to compare Manchester City to the teams he oversaw at Barcelona and Bayern Munich, but was full of admiration for their dominant 3-1 win over Arsenal. "We cannot deny the last two months, it was amazing, we won all the games in the Premier League, Champions League, Carabao Cup - it's so, so difficult," he told Sky Sports. "I'm so happy. [But] in the recent past Barcelona and Bayern won titles and we didn't win once. "Until we lift something we cannot talk about that. The way we played [was excellent], we cannot deny that in the two months we played well." |

The important thing is the performance - Guardiola Guardiola believes City were worthy winners in spite of the contentious decisions. "We won in the best way and deserve the victory," he added. "They tell me it's offside, I don't like to win in that way, sometimes it's like this but sometime Arsenal win at Burnley 1-0 with the hand in the 96th minute, sometimes it's like this. "The important thing is the performance, the way we try to play and we did that really well." |

The referee had to give Man City a penalty - De Bruyne Kevin De Bruyne felt referee Michael Oliver made the correct call in awarding Manchester City a penalty in the 3-1 win over Arsenal and says the team were good value for the three points. "We know Arsenal are a quality side but I think we contained them quite well. We created more chances and the third goal came at a good time," he said in quotes reported by BBC Sport. "We should also have scored the second one in the first half. We kept our composure well and it is a great win for us. "Obviously, it was great to score as it put us ahead and it's always nice every time you score. "Maybe we got the benefit from the referee but the penalty was the second one of its type in the game. He had to give a penalty. "The more you win, the more other teams want to beat you. It's been a great start for us so let's see what other games bring." 1 Like |

Guardiola backs Stones to get even better Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola hailed John Stones, but hopes the defender is ready to continue improving. Stones, 23, has developed into a key player for City, who are eight points clear atop the Premier League ahead of visiting Leicester City Saturday. Guardiola said the centre-back just needed time to settle at the club after joining from Everton for a reported £47.5million in August last year. Guardiola believes Stones' experience so far with City, including in the Champions League, has been behind his improvement. |

Conte concerned by Manchester City´s breakaway lead Chelsea boss Antonio Conte admits it will be "very difficult" to catch Premier League pace-setters Manchester City. Pep Guardiola's side, who beat Chelsea 1-0 last month, have opened a commanding eight-point lead at the top after just 11 games. Manchester United and Tottenham are the nearest chasers, while Conte's champions sit a further point back in fourth. Conte suggested City's heavy off-season investment had made the difference in the title race. |

Man City results ´perfect´, but Guardiola demands improvement Pep Guardiola insists Manchester City still have improvements to make despite labelling their results over the past two months as "perfect". City have been on another level compared to their rivals this season, scoring a phenomenal 38 league goals in 11 matches, while also booking their place in the Champions League knockout stage with two games to spare. The Citizens' attacking contingent of Kevin De Bruyne, Leroy Sane, David Silva, Raheem Sterling, Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jesus have particularly impressed and helped open up an eight-point gap at the top of the table. However, Guardiola is keen for City to raise their game even further ahead of a hectic December schedule. |

Guardiola confident Aguero in ´perfect´ condition despite hospital trip Pep Guardiola says Sergio Aguero is in "perfect" condition to play for Manchester City this weekend, despite being hospitalised in the recent international break. Aguero felt faint at half-time of Argentina's 4-2 defeat to Nigeria in Krasnodar on Tuesday but was cleared by doctors to fly back to Manchester. City's record goalscorer declared himself ready to face Leicester City on Saturday and Guardiola echoed his striker's confidence in a pre-match press conference. There are more pressing concerns over the fitness of Fabian Delph, though, the makeshift left-back having calf trouble that saw him miss England's friendlies with Germany and Brazil. |

Guardiola & Sane complete Man City award double Pep Guardiola and Leroy Sane have claimed the Premier League Manager and Player of the Month awards to complete a Manchester City double. The top-flight leaders won all three of their league matches in October, scoring 13 goals in the process to move eight points clear at the summit. Sane scored and assisted in each of those games, with the Germany winger seeing off competition for the honour from team-mate Kevin De Bruyne. It is the second month in a row that Guardiola has claimed the award. City travel to Leicester City on Saturday, before returning to action in the Champions League at home to Feyenoord. 1 Like |

The defenders got very rattled and let Liverpool have some 'easy' chances. But whatever City is doing is working and there is really little cause to change much! 2 Likes |

Manchester City have agreed a £50m deal for Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Fred. The 24-year-old Brazilian midfielder is seen as a replacement for Fernandinho, the man he replaced in Ukraine when he went to join City. Manchester United had been interested too, but Fred has a preference to play for Pep Guardiola. 3 Likes |
