Abia State government, through the E4E programme has kicked off the verification and authentication exercise of all the registered applicants to the programme. The staff of E4E began the exercise by posting the list of all registered applicants in all the local government headquarters throughout the state on Wednesday 10th August. This started in all the three senatorial zones simultaneously.
It will be recalled that upon assumption of office on May 29th of 2015, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu PhD promised to train and empower the youth of the state in various trades/skills, hence the creation of E4E. He believed that getting the young people of the State trained in various skills and engaging them fully would reduce the incidence of crime and other social vices in the state.
Education for Employment is a programme primarily designed to arrest the endemic youth unemployment and the dearth of skilled manpower needed by the industries in the state and the public, by training the applicants in line with the dictates of the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE).
As at today, more than 35,000 youths of Abia State have been profiled and are ready to begin a life changing journey through this laudable programme created by the people's governor.
