Ava looked at herself and smiled. Her costume was exactly how she envisioned it should look; goth dominatrix queen. A long, black trench coat of soft linen with only 2 buttons secured just above her belly button. A wide opening just barely covering her breasts and another revealing her long, toned legs. Underneath she wore a black, silk bra with red-laced trim , cupping her supple bosom barely covering her nipples. Black satin boy shorts and stiletto knee high boots completed the sensually dark picture.

Ava spun around and grabbed her mask – a black filigree wispy thing trimmed in the same red lace to match her bra. The air was charged with electricity on this warm, Halloween night. Ava couldn’t help but feel this would be a night to remember.

Ava Stone’s 7 year marriage of orgasmic lacklustre ended amicably last year. A successful bookstore owner and 40 years young, she decided to throw caution to the wind as soon as the divorce papers were signed.

She plunged into the dating scene – choosing her lovers with a careful eye. Ava explored her sexual fantasies through role-play with a handful of lovers. Though monogamous, she refused to delve into a committed relationship. Her last role-play lover was with a 50 year old self-proclaimed Dom who liked to call her “kitten.” The longest relationship since her divorce, until he became googly-eyed with the love bug and proposed marriage to her. The thought of marrying again scared her. Thomas was a sweet soul amidst his ropes and bondage gear. She ended their relationship abruptly and to her surprise, he took it rather well. “You played submissive long enough, I guess,” he said on their last night of role-play. That was nearly 3 months ago and they remained friends.

Ava’s best friend and business partner, Ciara Kauble, understood her better than most.

“You’re no more the submissive woman than I am a nun. Get back out there and fill your plate with appetizers. Men do it. Why not you?”

After celebrating the third year of their bookstore, “Cobblestone”, Ciara proposed an idea – a blind date. Ava would meet him at Ciara’s annual Halloween masquerade party. Ava flinched at first but then agreed.

Zane McDermond. A 39 year old stockbroker who was looking for excitement. They corresponded via text message two weeks leading up to their meeting at the masquerade party. He was at the same firm as Ciara’s husband, Frank, which made Ava more comfortable with meeting him. Ciara and Frank would not pick a bad apple as a blind date, although they remained vague in their description of him.

The only thing she knew was that he would be dressed as the Mad Hatter and that he was “Classically handsome. Not a GQ male model but easy on the eyes,” according to Ciara. They exchanged text messages comfortably and Ava became more revealing and bold. He wasn’t looking to be tied down in marriage but he wasn’t playing the field either. They were on the same page.
