Keturah King of CNN African Voices speaks on the Nigerian media industry. Keturah King was born in London, England and raised there up until the age of 12 – after which, she moved to and lived in various countries around the world,as the child of United Nations parents.
She is Nigerian with ties to Martinique and Cuba.
She speaks English, Yoruba, French and Japanese and Kiswahili.
Keturah King began her foray into the world of media at Arise TV, a 24 hour News and Entertainment channel.
Keturah and her crew were the only the journalists allowed on the presidential campaign trail of the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate in the 2015 presidential elections, and current Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari which was an opportunity that afforded her interaction with the President at a close quarters. For someone who could not speak a word of Yoruba until she was 13 years old, the experience helped her to better understand the culture of her people and accentuated her love for Nigeria.
Keturah then became the host of African Voices, a program which is a half hour weekly show that airs on CNN International. With this role, she has the exciting job of travelling throughout Africa, reporting on exciting stories for the show.
Hosting African Voices is not the peak for Keturah, as she has much more to offer the world. “This is not the pinnacle for me. The next step is to continue taking taking the continent to the world via work based in new African countries, with other international organisations that are currently in the pipeline.”
