He spoke the truth in a disrespectful way. No where in the world is name calling permitted. That is slanderous and very disrespectful. Your vice chancellor made a first class and that is academic excellence, it may not be leadership but its excellence all the same and more importantly you being a student has not achieved it yet so MUST show respect. More over its an insult to the entire degree awarding institution almost to the proportion of claiming they were daft for awarding a first class. The others names called are not necessary so I totally support the University. Part of what we all must learn is humility, how to talk in public, how to manage our temperament and how to be civil.

Please stop saying what you don't know,I live and work in the USA and the bold part of your comment is a LIE! I already told you there won't be an argument, it would be unfair of me to hold you to the same standards as intellectuals over here in the States. I'm off to bed!

It is not enough to say I am wrong, prove me wrong and stop dialoguing unintelligently. Stop arguing with premises that are void of knowledge. The issue with guys like you is that you love to copy people's ideas but copy and apply it wrongly. Now, compare these two open letters and take a mental note of the difference.

It is a good thing to remain calm in some situations. In Nigeria, we shouldn't take things seriously. As a youth, it's high time we stopped talking or writing against the government and start developing ourselves to touch lives. Writing heavy essays, protesting (putting our lives in jeopardy) and arguing about how government is bad didn't and won't solve any problem. We can only solve the problem by investing in ourselves, empowering our fellow youths and be the best we can be. Let's be our government.

you are weak sire..

Your mindset is the very destruction of this country because you do nothing while being raaped!

When Rotimi Ameachi said" we steal because you do not stone us" he was referring you people like you which unfortunately makes up over 90% of the population in this country. How can we progress when cowards outnumber warriors in great proportion?

If anything good will happen in this country, If the government will take us serious, we need people with voice like the student described in that report, men who Stand for justice. Sadly, they gagged when it appeared that status quo is being threatened.

When Fela sang his song "we fear to fight for freedom, we fear to fight for justice, we no wan die, papa dey for house, mama dey for house, everyday na the same thing (suffering and smiling) every day na the same thing (suffering and smiling) suffer suffer for world..." he was forking referring to cowards, unfortunately these cowards make up over 80% of the population in this country.

He who run away from a fight will live to fight another day. You will be rapeed and so will your children because you refused to fight for justice!
you are on point......Aluta continua victoria ascerta

In a Feb. 12 ruling in Bayer v. Evans, U.S. Magistrate Judge Barry L. Garber of Miami declined Evans's request for an injunction barring the principal from keeping the student's discipline in school records. But the judge denied qualified immunity for Bayer, holding that Evans's speech was protected under the First Amendment and that the principal should have known he was violating a clearly established right by disciplining Evans.

Like I said earlier we are not on the same level, you can use all the big big grammar you want but it still doesn't change the fact that you lack the experience and knowledge of what a true democracy entails. I won't be drawn into an argument with you, I know you try so hard but this is one that you just can't win. Talk to me when you've actually gone outside of Nigeria and witnessed true democracy....bye!

Enjoy! Here's a gift for you as you depart.

The right to freedom of expression is recognized as a human right under article 19 of the Universal
Declaration of Human Rights and recognized in
international human rights law in the International
Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR). Article
19 of the ICCPR states that "everyone shall have the right to hold opinions without interference" and "everyone shall have the right to freedom of
expression; this right shall include freedom to seek, receive and impart information and ideas of all kinds, regardless of frontiers, either orally, in writing or in print, in the form of art, or through any other media of his choice". Article 19 additionally states that the exercise of these rights carries "special duties and responsibilities" and may "therefore be subject to certain restrictions" when necessary "[f]or respect of the rights or reputation of others" or "[f]or the protection of national security or of public order (order public), or of public health or morals" sourced from wikipedia

lol I won't be raped neither my children. You talked about Fela, he was one out the millions that spoke out. You too can speak out, you don't need 80 percent of the coward population. I just gave you guys my perspective. Since Nigeria began, people has fought against the government but what were the outcomes. There's a difference between a social critic like you and a humanitarian, one just talks while the other improves lives. A better way to live a better life is to invest in yourself and improve other people's lives. Look for projects to do (no matter how little). The time you would use to criticise govt, you look for what you can do to help others you are better than. But if you think criticising on deaf ears will make the difference. All the best!
.My dear your argument is baseless. And its a coward's way of thought.
If he hadn't voiced out we wouldn't have known the level decay that went on. And believe me the world needs more people like that guy.
there is a saying that injustice prevail cos the just are silent about it.

Did you see where he said he is an environmental scientist? Not by what he was thought in school but by what he learnt on his own.
And who told you one can not improve on lives while still voicing out the ills maladies in the society.
