I have been reading a lot on this thread and the person that created it didn't do his findings very well. Straight to the point, Kwara south are not like Yoruba but absolute YORUBA people. Namely; EKITI, IBOLO, IGBOMiNA are pure Yoruba group. These are set up Yoruba group that was forcefully merged with the north by the British because of divide and rule syndrome in which they used against the Yoruba people precisely and southern Nigeria.I specifically mentioned the Yoruba because they are the largest ethnic group in Nigeria and they were the ones who championed the motion to chase the British away from Nigeria and prior to that,it was very difficult for the British to bring them under their protectorate as the kiriji war of 1877/78-1893 opened the eyes of the British as it concerns a people with a well organised mornachy system. Having said these, the part that are mainly of Northern kwara are the ones that are non Yoruba. Ilorin is a Yoruba town but with few Fulani element, even the emir who the Yoruba reject has a lineage of Yoruba mother from the time of the great grand father abdulsalam who revolted against Afonja and behind his father to kill afonja with other jihadist especially the Yoruba of Ilesha who are the closest to emir according to ranking are all of Yoruba blood lineage except few Fulani and they can't come out to say it aloud like they do in the core Hausa state. Do you know Emir momoh was killed by Yoruba people of Ilorin when they revolted against him burnt his palace and killed him in 1895 because of tax introduced by the British. Another Emir abdulkadri was chased away 1936 and was later restored back by the British. These were many of the reason they divided Yoruba group into north and South so as not to be able to champion a common course. Ilorin emirate is a child's play once time arises. .
