slowpoke, slowpoke, slowpoke. Everybody slowpoke, anybody slowpoke, slowpoke, slowpoke, when you don't understand or agree with them? Have you just learnt that word? slowpoke sounds good to you, eh huh

@Naijaking1 When another human being is trying to legitimise corruption and at the same time is trying to convince me of it with big english then yes, that person is a slowpoke. I will say it one more time, remove poverty from the equation and people become normal.

i have gone thru the comments and am wondering why are we all insulting ourselves?

i believe NL is a medium 4 mature pple who post their opinion and not degenerate to insults (though some are mad illarious).

OBJ has made a coment and we are all here insulting each other;so who is the bigger baboon?

if our parents or close relatives had enjoyed the dividends of associating wit any of these pple in government,am sure our bucal cavities would be glued together to say a word against them on a forum like this.

dat besides the point, lets come to the man called OBJ;he ruled for 8 yrs and what?let me highlight what.

GLO,MTN,ZAIN- how many pple are employed in these organisations?how many more have recharge card biz?(samll scale and big scale).

how many milionares have emerged from the biz of recharge cards?(i personally know one)who made it happen?-OBJ(even if these telecoms coy paid thru their noses to get the licence) but the fact remains dat other heads of state never made it happen-he did.

Agabni Darego won most butiful girl in the world,y'all think it was becos she was the most butiful, ? think again- international POLITICS came to play just to put naija on the map again;OBJ had international presence  and commanded some respect believe it or not.
ask president Jimmy Carter (ex-US president)

on record, nigeria's economy experinced a single digit inflation during his regime. foreign investors also came in during his time.Dollar stood still at =N=120-$1.00.for almost 8yrs!,  STABILTY.

now let's come to electricity!yes he failed!but who has suceeded in this area?

until we realize that the problem of power geneneration is one that everybody(from a local govt chairman to a senator)is profiting from;there would be no head- way.do you know that u need to get a licence from the Govt to import generators?-who are the impoters?

someone talked about him murdering pple in Ode.now ask urself, how wuld u feel if u were the son/dauther of the millitary men abushed and massacred(the pics were in teh papers then and it was gorry) in Ode which led to government  bombing the place in retaliation?no nation takws it lightly when you f****ck wit his millitary.if you dont take hard stand when it happens, tall bandits in teh name of freedom fighters would think your millitary might is weak-dat is dangerous for any country as a whole in the long term!

now u would all say it cannnot happen in a developed country but i say foul!-it happened in Great  Britian.UK bombed Ireland in retaliation to IRA bombings;lots of inocent pple died on both sides.

i am not out to suport ObJ or any of these bastards!, my point is lets make fair  comments and judgements, nobody is perfect.

if u want change ,,lets kill all these mofos in their league and age brackets;it happened in Gahna and now we are all running there without shame!

OBJ employed 6,000 pple, 6,000 less pple on the streets trying to rob your Bottom;think about that!

thank you bros.i'm happy that some people still think unbiased on nairaland.nobody says looting is good but investing the looted funds in diesel importation, oil exploration and even commodity importation would have given him cheap money but he chose to go the hard agriculture which has long term profit.investing in agriculture is an important aspect of developmental strides just like transportation, housing and power.agriculture is infact the most important but the least profitable.

Are these companies as a result of OBJ's business acumen?. If anything that happened during his regime should be credited to him, then we should blame him for the assassination of Bola Ige.

Ghananian president and most third world nations.

Power generation and distribution is as easy as a pie if our govt wants to do it. All OBJ needed to do was sell IPO for PHCN and let the sell the electricity to licensed vendors. These vendors can now sell to individuals at a price not more than 5% profit. That way, there will be over 100 vending companies in Nigeria and it will come with over 20k jobs in that sector alone.

Have you considered that the 6000 could be the total employees that has passed through that institution since inception?. Some could be dead while others could be contractors.

we all know its a crime but investing in agriculture with the money is something an average nigerian would find very difficult.obtaining bank loans for diesel import is so easy but banks funding agriculture is like the biblical camel passing through the eye of needle.that will tell you how sacrificial the investment is.

once again insults and more insults! hilarious sha!, i tire for una

i just wanted all of us to write with a little bit of maturity and not childish outburst of insults like its cool or smething.

OBJ did not give the telecoms companies the biz acumen to run thier biz, but he created the atmosphere and opportunity weather u agree or not ; and that  is the first thing  you need to start as a biz man.wether u wuld succeed or not is a combination of a whole lot of other related factors.

they solved electrcity issues in Ghana,my write up was refering to Nigeria.he could have solved it -yes! but if my comments were read with the intent to undestand rather than show that all pple can do on NL is riegn insults;you would see that i noted telectrcity issues is deeper than what one man can  try to solve without him being compromised. it is corruption at its highest level-OBJ is not a saint.i mentioned that.

ODI(sorry i did not get the spelling right) is not UK,, what makes it ok for similar occurence to happen in one country but a taboo in another?

An average bank  in nigeiria employs roughly 4,000-6,000pple; they boast of  paying inflated salaries while their books are as twisted as lagos roads, at the end of the day, we are all killing ouselves.

what i ask for is objectivity when making comments.

Perhaps this miracle of biblical proportions was inspired by special blessing from Pastor Enoch, perhaps not.
The story of Otta farm is truly a marvel. A resurrection. From total bankruptcy pre 1999 to a business that is now employing 6000 people today.

Jesus fed 5000, this man is employing 6000, imagine how many he is feeding - una no see de level?

From ground zero to Otta hero, a true success story, as if by magic there was suddenly enough money, apparently $250,000 a day, enough to make you wonder why the farm collapsed in the first place.

Either way, we would like to hear his testimony for the sudden injection of money, it is amazing what you can do when you save you monthly salary conscientiously.

It beats me how someone is insulting you by expressing their own point of view---which happens to be slightly different from yours. I have not seen any post on this thread that insulted you, yet you have no qualms hipping insults upon insults on other people. We are not in a daycare center, I thought most have graduated from kindergaten.

I have not supported corruption, actually, my position has been that all the corrupt leaders, office holders, civil servants found to be corrupt should be given the Jerry Rawlings treatment in order to purify our nation. However, since that is not possible, and since it's not even possible to bring them to justice in any kind of way, we are better off with the money in Nigeria than inside a European bank.

If you feel that I have insulted you by disagreeing with your own position, then argue your way out of the situation, and don't just yell insults at people.

A slowpoke is somebody who is incapable of making the right choices for himself at any given situation. Given this present scenerio, it's obvious you're so carried away from reality, and incapable of making the right decision for yourself or your country.

How convinient for you to say am changing my stance, I'm not. You probably never bothered to understand what I have been saying all along.
If you didn't understand what I have been saying for these 4 pages, then you're truely a slowpoke.
If you don't understand that at the moment there is no other way we can get even a fraction of the money stolen by our leaders back, you're a slowpoke.
If you don't know that many African leaders would rather die and forfeit these monies in European banks, than give it to their people, you're a slowpoke.
If you don't know that there many other thieves like OBJ walking the streets in Nigeria with Billions of our money rotting away in foreign banks, you're a slowpoke.
If you don't know that these billions is creating jobs for kids in other countries, you're a slowpoke.
If you don't know these thieves currently rule Nigeria, and there's nothing you can do to them, and their friends, then you're still a slowpoke.
If you have ever been unemployed, and you even went to your enemies companies to look for work, any type of work; and you got a job, but refused the job, because your enemy stole the money from your family in the past, while hunger dey kill you and your present family, then you're a real big slowpoke.

It's regretable, that must be why the OFN failed. However, what could we have done if he had diverted it Belgium, France, or Switzerland?
That same period. Olusola Sarki and another person were implicated in stealing 2.8billion naira, when our national budget stood at about 5billion.

With 1/2 of our national budget stolen in broaday light, our country was set developmentally back many years. So where is Sarki today, where is everybody, where is the money? Somebody should have adviced him to invest and return the money to Nigeria. He could have build a second Niger bridge all by himself, employ people, instead of what we have today.
