WhatsApp has announced that it will stop supporting all BlackBerry 10 phones, older Android phones and phones that run Windows 7.1 by the end of the year. whatsapp claims that these phones hold back its efforts to bring in new features for its users and that existing owners of these phones must buy new ones to continue using its popular app.

They will loose customers for sure. Because the majority of people who uses the app are middle class .They can't expect them to go for new phones when the ones they have are not faulty. The next thing to do is to look for alternative .e.g IMO chat and others.
