When I sleep, I hope not to wake
to the sounds of a blast yet I quake
For the night brings with it an ache
But with every night my ears ring, they ache ears hear nothing but waters that splash
Still no sleep, with fears so brash
Like nudity in the dark grows harsh in the day

Nothing seems right nothing seems wrong
Stench of foul ever so strong!

Birds could flap but there is no one to clap
Streams were once clear, but so long in distance far
Friends gone far away from home
But our desires were to keep our drums of gold
All around us seems fat with heavy eyes
Screams are loud and yet our yells fall short
Shades of black fill our shores
Who to blame we ask but no; we can’t find

When at last they come with promise
We look but find nothing but demise
With each bang we are lost; our virtues turn sour
T’is not fair water they pour
T’is our land, our pride, our water
We turn around and seem cowered to suffer
Black again, smell again, tears again
We pace, we move but not a distance gained

Oh brothers please draw near
Much better to stay in company
Our mothers have dispersed afar with fear
Our fathers despair at this new epiphany
Who to beg we seek with nerves
Then you come and claim to avenge
Nothing brought except things so wrong
Stench of foul ever so strong!
