The problem of wokers and the mases is not minimum wage.because, ones the government increase miminum wage, the cost of transport will skyrocket, thereby impacting on the price of food then, the 45,000 naira minimum wage will seem useless. The truth is increase in minimum wage without government price control, is like robing peter to pay paul. government cannot even afford to pay 18,000 now, we are talking about 48,000. The bottom line is, NLC are looking for ways to blackmail this government into feeling their pocket in the guise of fighting for the mases and at the end of the day we lose. Since we have been going on strike, what did we got....IF U GO ON STRICK, U ARE ON UR OWN because you will loose your job, and NLC will collect their own and forget about you( all man for himself and God for us all) |

[s] blueto:[/s] Despite oil booming (about $120 per barrel), what stopped your Drunkard from embracing and implementing 45,000 minimum wage? Please is it your 'Clueless President who resorted to borrowing to pay workers till the end of his tenure that will think of implementing 45,000 as minimum wage? http://www.pmnewsnigeria.com/2015/05/06/fg-borrows-n473bn-to-pay-salaries-okonjo-iweala/ If 'a man with no shoe' cannot implement it during the oil booming to the extent that Nigerian Universities experienced the longest strike in the history of the Nation, somebody with a functioning brain know that implementation of such amount during the recession in the oil market, coupled with huge pipeline vandalism is an herculean task in a country that practices mono-culture economy like Nigeria. It is a common sense thing and not a rocket science: get it right. |

NLC should organize a Demonstration at The Hague to force Switzerland to return all Nigerian Money in their possession. Give us this Patriotic Show and your Minimum will be doubled. |

You are looking at one side of the story. The government can increase tax, increase PMS but can't increase minimum wage. The only way out of recession is for government to spend her way out. Koolking: |

most state can't pay 18k, each state should negotiate there, in Lagos it can be 60k while Benue it can be less. but a benchmark must be given by both NLC & Federal government. |

Omonigeriarere: Shameless zombie, GEJ increased our minimum wage from 9,700 - 18,000 which is an over 90% increase. This was a period when inflation rate were single digits courtesy purposeful leadership, not until the current 1mbecile occupying Aso rock made sure we all suffered because ediots like you voted him into power against all glaring signs of stark illiteracy. The standard of living has increased by over 300%, and here you are chatting nonsense. 1 Like |

at current 18k rate a lot of states are groaning. let them accept the 45k the government offered thereby not wasting time and implementation can start right away. my only fear is that coming so soon to year end could cause high market inflation. |

Geniro: During the oil boom - 9,700 - 18,000 (difference of 9,700) During the recession - 18,000 - 45,000 (difference of 27,000) Which one is easier and achievable in your rational thinking? Worst still, your Ogogoro Drunkard resorted to borrowings to pay FG workers despite oil boom within the period you mentioned - http://www.pmnewsnigeria.com/2015/05/06/fg-borrows-n473bn-to-pay-salaries-okonjo-iweala/ This is not a rocket-science: it is a common sense affairs. It is either this topic is beyond your cognitive ability or your brain needs proper scanning and lamination to fathom whether it can function well in another state of affairs. |

Omonigeriarere: inflation has tripled unprecedentedly all thanks to the geriatric dullard foisted on the rest of us by zombies like you, yet you feign ignorance simply because you were unfortunate to partake in Aisha rice eating session.. Your zombie king proposed to increase wages as a palliatives to the fuel price hike and now fools like you are seeking to exonerate him from his responsibility. The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir David Lawal (SGF), on Wednesday, May 26, indicated that workers' minimum wage is set to get a upward review. http://pulse.ng/local/nlc-fg-set-to-increase-minimum-wage-id5080104.html The same oil boom was used to finance fuel subsidy zombies like you protested against in 2012. |

Geniro:[/s] As if payment for subsidy started when Le shoeless was in at the helm of affairs... With lesser price of crude oil, OBJ and Yaradua paid the same subsidy, increase reserves without borrowing to pay FG workers. You need to grow up. |
