I Hate Cooked Onions! by BlackMamba(m): 10:23pm On Dec 21, 2006
While growing up my mum did everything to make me eat them but finally stopped when it started to affect my eating habit. Because having a separate dish made for me without onions was completely out of question, I became very good in picking out all the strings of cooked onions from my food before I eat.
As an adult, in control of what I eat, I make sure cooked onions is not part of my meal, even when placing orders at restaurants. I don't have any allergic reaction to onions. Infact, I enjoy fresh onions in salad and suya. The problem is the cooked onions. My body cringes if I mistakenly chew one while eating, and usually spit out the food.

Is there a medical explanation to this condition? Do I really need cooked onions in my food, because I can care less about the slimy thing. I've enjoyed my food ever since I banned cooked onions in my meal.

i hated cooked onions as a child also.
what i do is i grind the onions and add it to whatever i am cookin so i can still have the flavour. i also put it into oil, fry it to get the flavour into the oil, then remove the pieces. i also buy powdered onions in bottles from tesco or asda.
