Edo Polls: Unofficial Results Indicate No Clear Cut Winner, As APC Chairman Lose by fastnewsng2016: 6:14am On Sep 29, 2016
It appeared there was no clear cut winner in the September 28 governorship election in Edo State between the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr. Godwin Obaseki, and the flag bearer of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu.

Obaseki and Ize-IyamuIze were running neck and neck in the ‘unofficial’ results from the units and ward levels, even as the two major contenders were claiming of comfortable leading.

Both the PDP and the APC supporters had rolled out drums to celebrate their victories in wards where they won comfortably, giving an impression that the election had gone in their individuals favour.

The governorship candidate of the PDP in the 2012 election in the state, Maj. Gen. Charles Airhiavbere (retd.), who is now a stalwart of the APC, led the ruling party to beat the PDP in Unit 18, 19, 20 and 21 of Ward one in the Oredo LGA.

APC also won in Ward 7 in the Oredo Local Government Area of the state by polling 4,412 votes while the PDP got 4,047 votes.

In Unit 18, PDP got 158 while the APC got 259. In Unit 19, APC scored 146 and PDP polled 85.

In Unit 20, the APC got 259 votes while the PDP polled 208 votes and in Unit 21, the APC scored 128 votes leaving the PDP with 98 votes.

In Oredo Ward 12, out of the accredited 4,399 voters, the PDP took the lead with 2,066, leaving the APC with 2,041.

In Oredo Ward 4, out of the total accredited voters of 4,911, the APC scored 3,058 while the PDP polled 1,541.

Unconfirmed results showed that the PDP won seven out of the eight units in Ward 3, Uromi in the Esan North-East Local Government Area, where a former chairman of the BoT of the PDP, Chief Tony Anenih, hails from, the APC won one unit.

Also, the APC lost in the polling unit of the National Chairman of the party, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, where the PDP emerged victorious.

How is it that during d PDP era,we could sit in our homes and watch live coverage of the collation of results. But under APC admin, everything is shrouded in mystery.

I read that report... you only cropped that first paragraph to favour your political party.. the statement below that your paragraph maintains the results as very tight from both parties.. pdp claimed they were leading, same as apc...

Irrespective of the outcome of this elections, certain fundamental lessons will be learnt as usual and as such will add to our democracy "handbook"
But my prayer is let the right person win, but may a special kind of cancer catch up with anybody that circumvent the will of the masses through rigging.
