The annual ranking of the best airports in the world by Skytrax passenger polls, makes for grim reading for Nigerian aviation officials. Not a single Nigerian airport made the top 10 in Africa in spite of billions of Naira spent on airport remodeling projects since 2011.

The results show that SIX South African airports - Cape town, Johannesburg, Durban King Shaka, East London, Port Elizabeth, and Bloemfontein - made Africa's top 10 list. Durban's King Shaka airport and Cape Town airport were adjudged the best airports worldwide in the under 5 million pax per year, and 5-10 million pax per year categories respectively.

In fact, only the Abuja and Lagos airports currently have jet bridges. However, the new terminals in Enugu, PH, Uyo, and Kano will have jet bridges.
