Am i the only one who finds this whole razzmattazz sorrounding the festive season nauseating?

What is all the fuss about?So some fella,called Jesus , died or was born 2000 years ago,who cares?

My favorite TV programs are not on air ,why, because its bloody Xmas.U have grown men, dressesd in fancy costumes calling themselves Santa-what rubbish

And then the kids-bunch of greedy,impatient daft folks who are pestering u for gifts.When I was in Nigeria,I had a whole procession of kids coming to our house for Xmas for presents ,I just felt like shootong them

I will like to say something about the women but I can't

Why can't we just celebrate it in a spiritual and solemn way?

I sometimes feel like constructing a bunker and going into it untill the whole thing blows over,cos one day I might beat some of these people dressed in Xmas costumes

This is partly the reason christmas has completely lost its meaning. This is a purely christian holiday that has been eroded over time by atheists and agnostics who still want to be a part of the "fun" of christmas while taking away the core or the essence: that is the celebration of God's gift to mankind.

We do not celebrate the birth of a child in a manger for we know he was not born on Dec 25. Shepherds do not watch their flocks in the snow! Rather it is simply a day set aside to remember the precious gift that the God of the bible sent to us that through Him we might be saved.
I wonder why those who dont believe in the God of the bible feel they indeed must celebrate christmas! It is NOT about giving and recieving gifts! It is not about family traditions or celebrating family members!

Just as i cannot celebrate salah since i do not believe in the "god" of islam, one wonders why the whole world is bothering with a "holiday" whose essence they care not to understand! Christmas is not by force! If you dont care for it pls do something else on that day!

Because those who "do not believe in the God of the bible" would rather throw away the essence of the holiday and replace it with gift giving and recieving just because they feel they must be a part of the "funfare" they associate with christmas.

Just as non-muslims leave muslims to their celebrations and jews celebrate hannukah alone, is it possible those that "do not believe in the God of the bible" can just leave us alone and do something else on the 25th of dec rather than decieve themselves indulging in irrelevancies?
