Islamisation: Sultan blasts Igbo leaders
13:06 11/10/2016
Sokoto - The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar III, has reacted to a recent accusation by the Igbo Leaders of Thought accusing President Buhari’s administration of plotting to Islamise Nigeria, ThisDay reports.
The Sultan said he was worried that people who were supposed to be elder state men could make such provocative comments.
His words: “I am always worried when Nigerians who are supposed to be elder statesmen make provocative comments about this government trying to Islamise Nigeria.
“I keep on asking how? How do you Islamise a country like Nigeria that is probably 80 million Muslims (in population) but we agreed that we are 50-50.
“Are you going to invite America? Somebody so naive even said the visit of the United States Secretary of State was to strengthen the Islamisation of programme of the leadership of the country.”
The Sultan also stated that it is wrong to ascribe the violence associated with Fulani herdsmen to an Islamic agenda.
“The problem with herdsmen and farmers is purely about economy. The herdsman wants food for his cattle, the farmer wants his farm produce to feed his family.
“We have tried to broker peace with Fulanis and Tivs in Nasarawa and Benue states. I have been to Makurdi four times for such meetings.
“So people should stop making this noise about Islamisation and herdsmen being used to islamise the country and so many negative things” the Sultan said.

Ignore then please. Are they even Christian? bunch of corrupt, sentimental people. they're just looking for ways to discredit the government and make Nigerians to hate the President but it has failed already.
Its unfortunate that some learned "men of God/PST" have been brainwashed to believe this.

#Thank God for orthodox church, most of them don't believe such crap, they only criticize constructively.

Since Yakassai came out with the assertion that Yoruba agitation for restructuring is a backdoor strategy to empower Middle Belt for self identity, North has mobilized efforts to warm up to Middle Beltans.

The other day Arewa Elders announced Paul Tarfa is tasked with answering the questions of restructuring in an upcoming summit at the end of which a cimminuque will be delivered.

There have been few other emissaries deployed to pull Middle Beltans closer and give them a sense of brotherhood with core North. Ema Ebuteh came out yesterday and cast a wall of division between Yoruba and Middle Belt and indeed warned the Middle Beltans to distance from Yoruba.

Now Sultan is getting involved and in his own tactics telling us how he responded to herdsmen attacks in Middle Belt and efforts to solve the problem. Really? The issue of his message has nothing to do with Middle Belt...it is about Igbo Leaders of Thought making accusations about their fears of where the country is headed. The Sultan should tell us if he visited Nembe people in Enugu and consoled them over fulani attack. It would have more relevance if Sultan had connected his response to ILT with any efforts spent warming up to victims of Nembe, than using this as a launch pad to remind Middle Belt of his connection and brotherhood with them.

Northerners are afraid of Yoruba and it is evident to see. Moreso, they are deeply insensitive and neglectful of Igbo.

There should be no merge of politics between Yoruba and Igbo as some has suggested. Instead the South should act as a three-headed serpent and attack North concurrently from West, South and East and not let up until the shenanigans of the turban wearing fools are eradicated in all its aspects.

Only a united south can defeat northern political dominance but willing southern betrayals for crumbs won't allow it i.e OBJ, Rochas, Tinubu, Amaechi, elites and some other politicians within APC/PDP.
