We have business locations at the moment in Lagos, Port-harcourt and Abuja for interested budding entrepreneurs

1. Odo kekere Ikorodu: It is a filling station lying deep within six communities, when fully set up it will be the only location in that area, every body comes to buy gas at odoguyan, if you know ikorodu axis very well, which is a good market to capture.

2. First Gate Ikorodu: it is located opposite laspotech, the tertiary institution makes the place viable as it has a captive market of 1million residents in the area.

3.Ijokoro road Sango: the newly tarred road makes this location an entrepreneurs delight; the resident will be wowed with such a service at this time.

4. Lasu-Igando road: The location is a fantastic one with residential buildings numbering up to 500, it's a good location for this business.

5. Lotto bustop, lagos-ibadan expressway: the location will not only be strategic but it will be extremely profitable as there is no gas plant around that area, residents around there have to drive down to enegas and tewe gas ojodu to get their gas, now imagine all those customers coming to your business location, why not? because they don't have any reason to drive for ten minutes anymore since it is at their doorstep.

There are two ways to refill a customer's gas cylinder, the PNEUMATIC and the AUTOMATIC dispensing system.

For the pneumatic dispensing system, the cylinder is place on a digital scale and the scale is adjusted to its zero limit so as to get the exact amount of gas already in the cylinder and the exact amount of gas needed to refill. Then the nozzle of the filling system is fitted to the valve of the cylinder and the system is stopped as soon as the pre-determined amount of gas is reached.

For the automatic dispensing system, the exact amount or quantity of kg or litres is pressed on the dispenser while the refilling nozzle is already inserted in the cylinder. In this way, the system automatically stops dispensing once the pre-determined amount of gas is reached.

The Nigerian Liquefied Petroleum Gas Association (NLPGA) has revealed that the nation's current LPG/cooking gas consumption rate is presently

at 350,000 tonnes per annum. Nigeria is the world's sixth largest producer of Liquefied Petroleum Gas also known as Cooking Gas but has the

lowest utilization of LPG in sub-Saharan Africa. With a population of over 160 million people, Nigeria ought to consume about 5,000,000 tonnes of

LPG/cooking gas every year.

Where do you set up your gas plant?

A good place to build to your gas plant is an area very close to where a large number of people reside, this is to ensure that you are not too far

from your target market.

But do not forget that your product is highly flammable, hence do not build your gas plant close to a residential building.

You need a small space to use as your office but big enough to store all your cylinders when closing time comes.

Sometimes setting up your gas plants where competitive companies are located is good. You may also catch the overflow from an existing

business.

Find out if any ordinances or zoning restrictions could affect your business in any way.

your location, your marketing, your pricing and everything. Be as specific as you can about your customers and learn as much as you can about
them.

THE MARKET OPPORTUNITY

There is a huge market for LPG in Nigeria as consumption grew from 36,000 Tons in 2005 to about 350,000 Tons in 2015 with a market project of 1,000,000 tonnes in in the next four years.

The major driver to achieve this growth is the constant availability of gas in the retail market, therein in lies the business opportunity for entrepreneurs to harness and develop the

Nigerian LPG Market to meet its consumption potentials. If a domestic consumer is assured of LPG when and where S/he needs it, S/he would willingly convert from firewood, coal or kerosene to LPG.

With the present emphasis of the government on the development on the gas sector, the supply situation is improving significantly and more households are definitely changing to LPG.

THE PROBLEM

Undoubtedly a vast investment potential exists in the domestic gas filling sub-sector of the Oil & Gas industry.

A large proportion of the middle and upper socio-economic class of people depend on a gas for cooking purposes.

Per capita consumption is just above 1kg in
Nigeria which is comparatively less than other West African countries like Ghana (4.7kg) and Senegal (9kg) per capita (WLPGA).

THE GASPRENEUR BUSINESS SOLUTION

Developed economies thrive on small businesses to spur economic growth, which is why we have created this scheme to build businesses across the LPG value chain.

This is a unique opportunity for entrepreneurs and Corporate Bodies to partake in the growing gas industry.

Let's guide you through as you embark on your journey to a financial breakthrough.

What is the future of cooking gas in Nigeria?

The world has continued to witness sustained band shift in crude oil and gas prices since 2004 and this has triggered major changes in

the global energy landscape.

Business Monitor International (BMI) believes Nigerian gas consumption will rise from an estimated 5.8bcm in 2012 to 15.0bcm by 2022.

Steps TO Clean Your Cooking Gas Griller

The first thing is to make sure your cooking gas cools off before you clean. Apart from burns which may affect your hand, cleaning a hot appliance can damage the appliance if water slips into sensitive parts; therefore make sure it is totally cold before starting the cleaning process.

After the grill has cooled off, systematically disassemble the parts, this is to ensure you clean each part in isolation of others. Cleaning them together is not advisable as it may not have the expected outcome you desire.

Clean the knobs and handles. These parts are the contact parts of a cooking gas grill and they are frequently soiled and oiled. Use a degreaser spray after cleaning with a dry rag. Give it at least ten minutes and then clean them off. The major function of the degreaser spray is to destroy any germ and bacteria buildup that may turn-up.

The challenges of setting up a cooking gas business?

Aside the initial cost of the equipment, a major set back is finding the right location for building a profitable business. A group of investors from blue chip companies stated that they had the cash to set up the business, but finding a location that will be certified for operations by the regulatory bodies and close enough for the consumers to have access to buy gas at all times.

The Solution:

We have partnered with major service stations across Nigeria to help solve that problem, a profitable location that will be certified by the regulatory bodies will be sourced by us for the investor to ensure a smooth running of the business.

Here is how to decode the expiry date:

Letter A stands for January to March; B stands April to June; C stands for July to September and D stands for October to December.
So if the characters on the vertical stay plates carry the date 'B – 09' it means the expiry date of the cylinder was JUNE 2009. Similarly,
'C-16' will indicate that the expiry date of that particular cylinder is SEPTEMBER 2016. A cylinder that is used beyond the expiry date
invites hazard and should immediately be returned to the distributor.

It is important to understand that the date stands for expiry date of the cylinder and not the liquefied petroleum gas inside. But it is in
the interest of consumers to always check for the expiry date of a cylinder before refilling.

One of the things to know about cooking gas business is "How is cooking gas measured?". The measurement of cooking gas plays an important role in the cooking gas retail business because error when measuring the amount of gas needed to refill a gas cylinder could lead to loss in your business or complaints from your customers or both. Cooking gas can be measured in litres, kilogrammes and tonnes.

1 kilogramme is equivalent to 1.75 litres

1 metric tonne is equivalent to 1000 kilogrammes

1 metric tonne is also equivalent to 1750 litres

Business Intelligence Update:

Most of the energy used for domestic cooking in Nigerian homes comes from traditional forms of energy like HHK (kerosene) which accounts for 65-70% of the energy consumption in Nigeria, LPG stands at 25%, while other fossil fuels like firewood and coals accounts for the remaining 5%.

Now lets do some basic mathematics from the post above

Annual Consumption of cooking Gas stands at 300,000 MTPA (300million KG)
25% of annual consumption= 300million kg (527million litres)

Now imagine if we can switch another 25% of our population from House Hold Kerosene to cooking gas in the next 36 months

50% of annual consumption= 600million kg (1.54billion Litres)

Considering the negative impact of kerosene on the economy (subsidy) and the environment, it's important for us as Nigerians to look inward and invest in this emerging sector to grow the naira and reduce the emission of green house gases to curb global warming

We cant do it alone, we need to join hands to make Nigeria a cleaner place and become millionaires in the process.

- Ensure that the valve is always protected by a valve cap to prevent further damage if the cylinder is dropped.
- When loading or unloading the cylinders, never drag, drop or roll the cylinders.
- Always ensure that cylinders are kept in a well ventilated ware house with regards to the manufacturers ambient temperature standard.
- Ensure that cylinders are placed on wooden pallets and not on a bare floor.
- Use trolleys and cylinder hand trucks when moving the cylinder around.
- Fasten securing bars on the trolley while moving the cylinders.

As you walk across Nigeria today, you will observe a new trend of LPG plants popping up all around especially in petroleum filling stations and small land spaces and many write-ups are littered across the internet about the LPG industry, this is as a result of many individuals that are shifting from kerosene and other fossil fuels to using cooking gas. The major challenge for the old and new consumers of gas is the fact that the gas plants are not close enough for them which creates a vacuum which entrepreneurs can take advantage of and create value in the sector by bring gas closer to the consumers.

The LPG industry in Nigeria has a value of 37billion Naira with less than 10% already being harnessed. Nigeria is at that point we were in the 1970's when the populace made a massive switch from firewood to kerosene stoves because it was the most convenient domestic fuel at that time.

Dear budding Entrepreneur, if there is anywhere to invest in this bleak economic situation of our country, it is in the LPG Industry because it is not a seasonal product and it is a constant domestic requirement for homes.

Our integrated support system guarantees that we don’t just get a profitable location to set up your business, get trading licenses for you to trade in the business, Construct and safely install your plants for you, train you and your management staff on how to manage and run your plant. We also provide after sales business support which brings at least 250kg worth of sales to you daily, this will help you drive sales and improve your revenue.

The supply chain of cooking gas is simply the process which cooking gas goes through before getting to the end users.

From the PRODUCERS to the WHOLESALERS to the DISTRIBUTORS to the RETAILERS and then the CONSUMERS.

NNLG is the major producer of cooking gas in Nigeria because it produces over 80% of annual cooking gas consumption in Nigeria. NAVGAS and NIPCO are the major wholesalers of cooking gas in Nigeria, both located somewhere around Apapa, Lagos State. Distributors are the companies in between the wholesalers and the retailers, they do not sell in wholesale prices but they do not deliver directly to the consumers, they sell to retailers instead, the retailers are the people or companies that sell cooking gas directly to the consumers, they sometimes do home refill for the consumers and the consumers or end users or customers are the people willing to buy cooking gas.

So for a retailer, you are more concerned with buying from the best distributor and selling to as many consumers as possible.
