Today’s Children Growing Too Fast. by holyprof: 6:44pm On Oct 23, 2016
From the time of a child’s conception, parents are swamped with advice on how to bring up their children. They are desperate to ‘compete’ with other parents, pushing their children relentlessly in order that they, too, can be ‘competitive’.

“Some parents and educators believe that a child is like a huge container. To insure the child’s success, they think it their job to fill it up with as much information as possible, as quickly as possible. This misconception is damaging the brilliance of millions of our youth.

In today’s Internet age, information is growing exponentially as the power of the Internet grows.

Wikipedia, Google, Bing and similar sites provide information whenever and wherever required, but without filtering what is actually worth knowing.

Add the pressure we all feel to do more, to experience more and, in turn, to provide more for our children. And so, more and more parents are bent on stimulating and pushing their children further on the thinking that the more young children know, the more they do, and the better their chances of success later in life. For Instance, Many parents in African freely admit to enrolling their children in extra lessons, holiday lesson, online classes and vocational training – imagining that one of these efforts, will pay off into success.
