WhatsApp is one of the most popular messaging apps on the planet, so even small changes warrant some attention. This isn't a small change, though. This is a big one. WhatsApp is rolling out support for video calls in the Android app, but not everyone has the feature yet.

Video calls are becoming available seemingly at random. You won't need an app update as long as you're on one of the recent beta versions (people are reporting success on a few builds). If the person on the other end doesn't have video calling enabled yet they'll just get a voice call. You'll still be able to see the video calling UI, though. The call log shows that as a video call, but tapping the video button just pulls up an error message (below).

Update:
I've had success forcing video calling to activate by wiping app data and logging in again. You can try this, but make sure you back up your chats first.

For root users, go to
/data/data/com.whatsapp/shared_prefs/

Open
com.whatsapp_preferences.xml

Then add
<boolean name="video_calling" value="true"/>

Force close the app, it should be enabled next time you open it

Facebook calls and imo calls are the best to me tho

Like seriously dude? Are you kidding me? Whatsapp audio call is super clear.... If your network strength isn't good, then you can't expect the best of any Internet base call - it's that simple.

I expect them to b more efficient with there calls instead of going to video call... Y can't they mentain standard like St' Lukes sugar.
