It can be argued that popular wordsmith Ycee made a phenomenal and incredibly outstanding mark with his performance at the regal-themed concert ‘3 Thrones’; held last Sunday, October 23rd , 2016 at EKO Hotel Convention Centre, Lagos.

The rapper performed in an astounding fashion; using a live band – an act that can be considered a rare feat from a rapper. Before his full performance, Ycee came out to join his collaborator Tjan on stage to perform the singer’s latest smash hit ‘Meji’.

Veteran American rappers Jay-Z, Kanye West, Lil Wayne and Eminem are among the few rappers who have been witnessed delivering praiseworthy performances with a live band.

However, in this part of the world, live bands are mostly exerted for performance by singers – it is somewhat outlandish to witness rappers perform with a live band on a big stage.
