As a former catholic, I can relate to thia story. I once saw atheist as bad and immoral people until I met them. When doubt came,I searched frantically for a reason to believe. I even thought I had sinned for having doubts. I was terribly depressed that I had questioned the church authority.
The kind of bondage religion has on people is overwhelming.
