This is just my own findings having conducted research on where one can invest in property in Lagos. You can add your own also for the benefit of all.

1) Association or Taste :- If you are the type that has taste for decent environment and like to associate with high caliber of people like Army Generals, Doctors, Lawyers, Engineers, Bankers etc Lagos Island is the place for you.

2) Investment purposes:- If you are buying Land for investment purposes, Lagos Island is your right place because value of land in island appreciate rapidly than in the mainland.

3) Standards of living:- If you want to leave where standards of living is low, where you can get everything cheap. Pay cheap school fees, cheap food stuffs, cheap transportation, cheap clothes and shoes, then Lagos mainland is right place for you.

4) Are you ready to build immediately? It will be very risky to buy land in island without developing it immediately because of sophisticated omo Onile in that part of the state, most of them are educated and exposed and are ready to follow you to any length to frustrate you even after collected your land

5) Cost:- The price you pay for a plot of land in lagos Island most times can gives you 2 or 3 plot of land in the mainland, so if you are considering buying Land in island ensure you have deep pockets
