Talk about a hard-working nation.
How long would it take to fix this road in your country?

Japan has advanced technology, plus an annual GDP of 4.92 TRILLION dollars.

Thus, comparing her current engineering capabilities to that of Nigeria is insanity.

OP, it's not about who is a ''hardworking nation'' and who isn't a ''hardworking nation'' - whatever the hell that means.

The economic and development profiles of nations are far more complicated than such silly simplifications.

If it's in Nigeria, they will blame the opposition party for the earthquake and afterwards the road will be abandoned b'cos it leads to South East.

So how does that explain why Fashola couldn't complete the Lekki Epe express way after spending 39 billion naira and toll collection in billions..it's not about GDP or tech sir ,the plain truth is that our leaders are not committed to anything, Fashola wasn't interested in fixing the road ,he was interested in setting up the toll system so he and his friends can reap off and that explains why the toll gate on lekki Epe is the only well built thing on that road

If that happened in Nigeria. It wouldn't just be abandoned cos it leads to SE. Ndi afonjo afonjas would post the earthquake damaged road with that picture of Jacob Zuma and caption it....

Enyia, forget this thing wey u dey yarn. sad Nigerian government is a mess. Let assume that a 20KM of road in Nig is budgeted for 10B$ while the same 20Km in Japan is budgeted for the same amount or even lower . Nigeria will use tribalism and corruption reap the money apart while sane country like Japan will utilise the opportunity and work on the road. Upon all the damages earthquake cause in Japan, they rebuild it with immediate effect. Whereas Nigeria is not an earthquake zone still the road is F.U.C.KED

If it's in naija, at the legislathieves the looters will pass a bill for the work then, it will pass first and second reading in the National Assembly then they will set up a committee that will look into the case.

At the executhieves board meeting Buhari will preside on it then he will approve billions of naija for the work and that is all.

At ministry of works immediately they will ask the contractor to move to site, then u will be seeing different kinds of equipment and machines for months or years it end there.

At the political party level it be blame game, the present reigning party will blame the past for spending and the past will blame the present for not been focus.

Then on nairaland Afonjas will be happy it happens in the east and the flationes will scream it's the handiwork of d zoo called naija.
