These photos which have been trending online show how little children in a primary school in Cameroon are being punished.

According to reports, the director of the school located in Ebang neighborhood, Yaounde, punishes the pupils by forcing them to kneel/crawl in the mud irrespective of how little they are.

This is awful.

I'm ashamed of this your post. This is 21st century and there are better ways of instilling discipline than this demeaning and reprehensible method.

I won't accept this punishment or anything close to it for my children from any school.

Some teachers can be wicked.

I was so excited on my first day at the primary school but had to ran back home cos I witnessed some senior students being punished. It took some efforts before my senior sis convinced me to go back.

Some secondary school teachers even asked students to kneel and crawl on gravels as punishment for late coming and I remembered a particular teacher that'll specifically asked students to go and dip their buttocks in water before "yodi e" (show me your yansh) flogging.

Those were the days students respect teachers not nowadays that teachers are afraid of their students.

These children will grow to hate schools. Sometimes it's not their fault they're late, especially when they are little.

This is barbaric!

These children's lateness should be better blamed on their parents, school topography and government.

Seeing the topography of the school, the area seems to be primitive and will likely take these children long distance to trek to school.
Moreover, the soil is wet and muddy. Can't this make the children to be late also?

We talk about being disciplinarian in Africa, yet it is not reflecting in our behavior when we become adult.

There is nothing special about the 21st century, kneeling down is normal and has been working since 1900.

No wonder kids of 19th and 20th century are more disciplined than some of our 21st century kids.

Bros., there are other ways of punishing them. Not by asking them to crawl on a muddy floor. Caning, or other punishments are still acceptable. Yes, this us actually barbaric.

People like the guy u mentioned is a brute, i wont be surprised if he beats his wife/girlfriend, how can any sane human support such atrocity
