You were using Boo ni instead of Bawo ni, that is you're using your dialect, that's why i got confused.
THANKS ANYWAY!

Tis not a Dialect but a way of shortening ''Bawo ni'' while speaking Yoruba ''Boo ni''

Just like shortening Yoruba=Yooba !!!!

Ndewo ooo !!!

Greetings to you all,

I am trying to learn more about my culture, although I am not of Nigerian or even African blood but I hope maybe someone can help me. I have recently created a post here to find out if some ancient songs and dances originated from the Igbo people of Nigeria passed down to us from our ancestors taken from west Africa in the slave trade. I had 2 replies which said that the language of the songs sounded more like Yoruba than Ibo. So maybe someone here can clarify it for me?

In our tradition we perform a big drum dance for weddings and funerals and other events to receive blessings from our ancestors gone before us.

The song is called: Ibole Ibole woy yo

Gongo banan plantain
Me wo yo
Ibole Ibole woy yo
Hele bu Legba wo yo

We also have another song entitled: Ogun maa se sile wa

Can someone pls tell me if this could be the Yoruba language?
Many thanks in advance
