None other than ever-present Brazil await hosts and tournament debutants Papua New Guinea on the opening day of the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup. Meanwhile, Canada kick off against Spain, who are back 12 years after their only appearance at the event, while Nigeria – the beaten finalists last time round – meet Japan in what promises to be an entertaining affair. Last but not least, Korea DPR take on Sweden.

Two-time runners-up, in 2010 and 2014, Nigeria naturally have their sights firmly set on going one better this time round and lifting the trophy on 3 December. Nigeria U20 women coached by Peter Dedevbo

to the eighth Fifa U20 Women’s World Cup in Papua New Guinea.

The team is made up of three goalkeepers, seven defenders, five midfielders and six strikers. The country's delegation of 21 players and officials led by head coach will fly out of the country on Sunday evening.

Nigeria who finished as runners-up at the 2014 edition in Canada will play Japan on November 13 before matches against Canada and Spain respectively in the group phase.
