Ex-Super Eagles Defender & Shooting Stars Hero Ogbein Fawole Dies of Cardiac Arrest Nigerian Footballer Deported From UK Ogbein Fawole Dies Of Heart Attack 2 Weeks After A star footballer in the early 80s, Ogbein Fawole who relocated to the United Kingdom in 2001 returned to Nigeria empty handed about two weeks ago. Mr Fawole who abandoned his wife, kids and siblings in Nigeria has been struggling to settle down in the United Kingdom since then but nothing worked for him. Fawole who was the former defender for the Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan died of heart attack caused by the disappointment of his deportation to Nigeria at his friend’s house in Lagos last week. A source revealed to our reporter that when Ogbein Fawole was sent back to Nigeria empty handed, he was heartbroken and he had to secretly stay with a friend in Lagos, avoiding his family in Ibadan. When he developed complication, he was forced to give his relatives phone number to his friend and when he eventually died last week Monday, his friend called his family to break the news to them. Edited: Been the first to comment let's then put this in better perspective 4 yrs ago I was removed from UK on the ground of over staying my student visa. 4 yrs after here I am living my life like it's golden. Why would u become so emotionally tied to a country u can't lay claim to to the extent u will come and go and have heart attack because they brought u bk to ur own country? I really don't get it. Meanwhile I dedicate this FTC post to those Nigerians aboard especially in UK who in spite the uncertainty still refuse to come back home. What a sad end. I remember when he scored the unfortunate own goal in the 1984 Sekou Toure Cup (now African Champions League) final second leg in Lagos against Zamalek. One of the two times I cried watching a game (second being that loss to Italy in USA 1994). RIP! 5 Likes |

This is very sad. A lot of Nigeria are suffering and disappointed in the UK but shame is not allowing them to come back home, this is one sad case till he was deported and it made matters worse. Only very few families will understand , that's why he camped with a friend, thinking of how to present his case to his family,also added to his stress. When family make meeting untop ya head, about ones failures, one would wish he can just disappear into thin air. Their own worse pass. Rest in peace Ogbein. At least you will rest well..
