Some of the popular towns of the Ijesa are Ibokun, Erin Ijesa, Ipetu Ijesa, Ijebu-Ijesa, Esa-Oke, Ipole, Ifewara, Ijeda, Iloko, Iwara, Iperindo, Erinmo, Iwaraja, Idominasi, Ilase, Igangan, Imo, Eti-oni, Ibodi and many others. The Academy of Islamic Propagation (ACADIP) held a 2-Day Lecture in Imo, Iléṣà on 18th and 19th of November 2016. The claim that it is "Jerusalem of the Christians" in South West Nigeria is further evidenced as the Ilesa Muslims' Eid Praying Ground where the Lecture was held are surrounded by Churches of different denominations.
