Fidel Castro: The Greatest Revolutionist by shehuolayinka(m): 6:53pm On Nov 27, 2016
The beauty of a man, lies not solely on his looks, but greatly on who the man is to himself and others around him. Fidel Castro, the enigmatic revolutionary leader of Cuba, is and will always be one of the greatest to walked this earth.

To him, it was not about riches, but alleviating and ameliorating his people from suffering and from the hands of a dictator and the imperialists who believed Cuba was an extension of their land, thereby asserting greater control, through the "yes sir president", Gen. Fulgencio Batista.

He was first a Nationalist, a revolutionist, lover of cigar, cubs, women, avid diver, and most importantly, an esteem reverence for Africa and its people.

His government, made Cuba, to be one of the most cool and friendly country; providing health care in times of disaster to countries, etc.

Influenced by Marxist-Leninist, type of politics and governance, Castro was a greater admirer of the The Soviet Union, to which he preferred to relate with than the more successful West.

His country, represented a shrimp of a
country, just a dot on the map, and but made it large, when he stood against United States and became the advocate for an entire Third World,”

Castro, wrote, in defiance to the US “Cuba is not opposed to finding a solution to its historical differences with the United States, but no one should expect Cuba to change its position or yield in its principles. Cuba is and will continue to be socialist. Cuba is and will continue to be a friend of the Soviet Union and of all the socialist states.”

Imperialism and colonialism, took the top spot in Castro abhorrent list, which to him, injustice and oppression should be resisted by all.

A socialist, whose legacy, speaks more than the... Who at all cause, wanted his demise. His hand was seen in fight against racism, inequality and the western backed Apartheid era in South Africa. He stood up and ensure South Africa, was free, influenced Africans leaders alike, who saw the need for a reason to push out oppression and thereby heralding independence from colonial rule and imperialists.

He defied those wanting to influence Cuba at all cost. Till death he still stood against imperialism, he was such a man, that a response to US President, Barack Obama address in Havana, showed a man whose flame of defiance against imperialists wasn’t dwindling even in old-age, " As Castro wrote: “Nobody should be under the illusion that the people of this dignified and selfless country will renounce the glory, the rights, or the spiritual wealth they have gained with the development of education, science and culture.” He went on, “I also warn that we are capable of producing the food and material riches we need with the efforts and intelligence of our people. We do not need the empire to give us anything.” his rapprochement to still remain that it should be on mutual term.

He was a staunch opponent of capitalism, “I find capitalism repugnant. It is filthy, it is s gross, it is alienating... because it causes war, hypocrisy and competition", his was for the people.

His Revolution gave life to millions in Cuba and throughout the Third World, supported Africa in times of need and gave millions a reason to live and smile.
