Are you a student aged 13 to 22 years? You are eligible to compete in the 2017 Microsoft Office Specialist World Championship for Students! The championship is a global competition going on in over 50 countries that tests student’s skills on Word, Excel and PowerPoint. The winners in three programs will represent Nigeria at the championship to be held in Disneyland, California, USA in August 2017.

Students and teachers have the chance to win any of the following prizes –

MOS Computer Teacher of the Year Award – (School with the highest score at the National Competition) – Teacher will accompany the Nigerian team to the world championship to be held in Disneyland, California, USA

Eligibility

1. Age: 13 – 22years by 31 July 2017
2. Exam must be conducted by your school and submitted to ReadManna, the Championship Coordinator
3. Exam results must be submitted to ReadManna before 30 April, 2017


How to Compete

1. Take a qualifying exam for a FEE on ANY of the following exams in your school –

Microsoft Word 2013
Microsoft Excel 2013
Microsoft PowerPoint 2013
Microsoft Word 2016
Microsoft Excel 2016
Microsoft PowerPoint 2016

(The exam fee depends on the number of students enrolled in a school)

2. All scores must be submitted before 30 April 2017 by participating schools

3. Shortlisted students will be invited to compete in the Microsoft Office National Examination that will take place in their nearest exam centre - Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt in May/June 2017

4. The winners in the 6 programs will take further assessments to determine the 3 students who will represent Nigeria at the world championship


OUR TRACK RECORD IN PAST MICROSOFT OFFICE SPECIALIST WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP

Olubunmi Agusto of Day Waterman College, Abeokuta, Ogun State came second in Microsoft Word 2007 exam category at the 2014 Microsoft Office Specialist World Championship held in California in July 2014 and she has become the first African to emerge among the top three winners since the first edition of the competition 15 years ago.

Abure Atafo of the Childville School, Ogudu, Lagos came 10th in Excel 2010 exam category at the 2015 Microsoft Office Specialist World Championship held in August 2015 in Dallas, USA.

Katherine Eta (picture below) of the Childville School, Ogudu, Lagos came 10th in PowerPoint 2013 exam category at the 2016 Microsoft Office Specialist World Championship held in Florida, USA in August 2016. Is your school approved by the relevant authority?

Then, the ICT teacher in your school should contact us to register the school as a Certiport Authorizing Testing Centre. Students aged 13 - 22 years in your school are eligible to compete. The ICT teacher will conduct the exams and must submit the scores for all students who competed to us before 30th April 2017.
