"Many years back, a man proposed to me over the phone. To make matters more baffling, he proposed via text message. I was weak.

I later asked him if that is how men propose to women in his village and his response was "My father proposed to my mother through NIPOST". And he meant every word." Lol - (Chioma said)

So ladies and gents, can you make or accept a phone proposal? Lets Discuss

Am lost, the post and pics you posted say different things.
Is it proposing to ur lover or gf through phone OR proposing to someone you met on social media, who you only did a video chat with?

Pharisee, na im you be.

What you called the "Norm" of nowaday(kneel proposal) was started by someone and i know it was DUMB and eccentric then until you all sees that as the Trend.

How hypocritical can one be?
It's not Silly nor Dumb But Innovative and Esctatic

Yessah. When you're done proposing to that your girlfriend over the phone, how about you open a thread here and tell us how it went. Please remember to mention my moniker. I love a good laugh anytime any day.

why the bitterness oozing from you?
What you termed archaic and old fashioned was once the NORM.
So, because someone knelt down for his girl to make proposal, we should just accept that as the ONLY way or everyone should just follow same pattern and never innovate their own?

I've seen where a guy proposed to his lady by inserting a ring into the bread she will eat. She took a bite and holla, there was the ring ring in her mouth... Brought it out and wanted to flare up with the waiter, before her guy calmly used same ring to proposed.

If everyone proposal is Outstanding, then, i think i should innovate and Stand Out among them.

No be someone started Pre-wedding Pictures posting? It was dumb then, but ALMOST everyone out there have caught its Fever.

Tricky.

Let me give a Scenario. Anne and Peter were just close friends before Peter travelled out to the U.S.
They both kept in touch, and talked from time to time. They wanted to date but chose not to because of distance.

Anne later had a boyfriend but she just couldnt see a future with him. She told Peter after a while that her boyfriend has been talking about marriage recently and she wasnt sure about accepting it.

Peter finally saw this as an opportunity to propose to Anne since he was coming home soon after his studies. In order for Anne not to accept her Boyfriend's proposal, he decides to propose via phone call.

In this scenario Ladies, do you still find it awkward/ unromantic knowing well that Anne would accept his proposal now?

A surprise and unique proposal is the best way to do it.
When I proposed to my wife I did it in swimming pool.

Before that point she was used to the weird things I do to appreciate her anyway, but that swimming pool thing blew her mind. She will never forget that day.
