Reminds me of this beautiful poetry, A Soldier 's Poem
. Written in March 28 2012 by lovejellybabies . Actually inspired by a book written by Tim O' Brian tittle IF I DIE IN COMBAT ZONE, BOX ME UP AND SHIP ME HOME. first published in 1973.written to capture the life of soldiers fighting in the Vietnam war.

Obasanjo, Tinubu, Buhari and all those people who ruined this country wouldn't wanna die for Nigeria

Foolishness is an understatement. Those guys you mentioned are busy syphoning our money for private uses and this one that can't boast of 200k in his account wants to die for Nigeria. A country that is not willing to do nothing for its people not to talk of soldiers in the line of fire. No electricity, no road, no water, and no social welfare for its people. No provision for men and women in active duty in case of death for their sacrifices. Some are buried in unmarked shallow grave in North East forgotten.

the main duty of a soldier is to protect the civilian AND NOT TO BULLY OR TORTURE HIM EVEN IN A CONFLICT ZONE SO LONG AS HE/SHE IS NOT ARMED! IN FACT, IN EVERY MILITARY TRAINING AND RULES OF ENGAGEMENT WORLDWIDE, IT IS REGARDED AS COWARDICE TO MANHANDLE, MALTREAT OR TORTURE A CIVILIAN NO MATTER THE CIRCUMSTANCE!

BUT SOLDIERS LIKE YOU TAKE DELIGHT IN FLEXING YOUR MUSCLES ON THE CIVILIAN POPULACE! MEN LIKE YOU BRING DISREPUTE TO AN ORGANIZATION THAT IS SUPPOSED TO BE LOVED AND RESPECTED BY ALL! TAKE NOTE: RESPECT AND LOVE DOESN'T COME BY COMPULSION - IT IS MERITED.

BACK IN THE DAYS, IT WAS A GENERAL BELIEVE THAT OUR MILITARY ARE THIS WICKED BC THEY ARE LEAD BY MAJORITY OF UNLETTERED MEN - AND THERE WAS HOPE THAT WHEN GRADUATES TAKES OVER LEADERSHIP OF THE ARMED FORCES, THERE WILL BE RESPECT FOR RULE OF LAW, BUT SADLY, NOW THAT THE ARMED FORCES IS HEADED BY MOSTLY EDUCATED MEN, THERE SEEM TO BE AN INCREASE IN HUMAN RIGHTS ABUSE AND MURDER OF CIVILIANS BY MEN IN UNIFORM.

LET ME ALSO REMIND YOU THAT IT IS NOT YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO TREAT MY STUBBORNNESS - THE LAW STATED CLEARLY THAT IT IS THE DUTY OF THE POLICE TO DO THAT AND NOT THE SOLDIER!

MY DEEPEST RESPECT STILL GOES TO MEN IN UNIFORM WHO MAKES SURE THEY HAVE NO HAND IN TORTURE AND MURDER OF CIVILIANS - BIG UP TO MY ELDER BRO - A CAPTAIN WHO HATES SEEING ANY SOLDIER HAVING ISSUES WITH CIVILIANS, LIKE HE ALWAYS SAY "REPORT THE OFFENDER TO THE POLICE - DON'T TAKE THE LAW INTO YOUR HANDS".

I saw this and prayed that God should bless every Nigerian Soldier who Is fighting for the security of the country, still knowing its a risky job but still wanna do it for the love of the nation.

We are all born to die on earth. But do good. God bless

May God protect the good ones there, and for the bad fulanis ones killing my brothers , may book haram shoot them to death amen. Most of these soldiers didn't join the work out of love for the useless country but out of unemployment in the country. So don't kill yourself for it and allow the criminals that ruined the country to continue looting.

God bless Our soldiers. Our country appreciate what the effort our soldiers do. It is a pity that some people may not respect your sacrifices but many Nigerians appreciate do.

This is bad. These guys risks their lives for you and I. They stay awake that you may sleep. They left the comfort of their homes so you and I would be at home in comfort. Least you should do is show some appreciation
