Hallo PC gurus.

I want to clean the dust in my laptop fan. I'm considering removing the fan and soaking it completely in alcohol (ethanol).

I would like to know how safe it is.

It gets high On a serious note, you need to get a highly concentrated alcohol to avoid it leaving behind trails of water on evaporating. To test this, pour some in an aluminium bottle cover and light with a match or lighter. If it burns completely with a blue flame, without leaving water behind, then its good.

the alcohol I have is absolute ethanol, I will still carry out your test though.

lol... u don't need any form of liquid to clean your fan, except if u want to wash the motherboard..

all u need is soft brush, but if at all u want to use ethanol make sure it's not too much and pls don't soak ooo.. remember there is a rotor that makes the fan to role,if it enters inside the rotor only God K knows what will happen next
