Despite the shut down of Kick Ass Torrents, one of the most popular torrent sites, torrent downloads continued to boom throughout 2016.

Movies are one of the most items people download on torrent websites, and for 2016, the most downloaded movie on torrent websites was anti-superhero movie, Deadpool.

The list was compiled by website Torrent Freak, with fellow superhero movies Batman vs Superman and Captain America: Civil War.
