I dont think it is ridiculous to trace your genealogy through your ancestors. Or you might as well discard your last name to maintain your single identity. A tree just cant sprout up without the roots, hence one's heritage should be traced through their ancestors to maintain their genealogy. You just cant, like the Americans say, "My parents are from Texas, but I am from Florida". Theirs is different, each on their own. Africans are different, we have that sense of community, handed down to us by our ancestors. I am all for it. Otherwise, I would not have picked Nigeria as my country of origin.
