Law litigators are to be feared in general, but certain litigation firms in Nigeria strike fear into the hearts of their opponents like no others. Law Repository Nigeria just concluded research into the "fearsome ten” — the most-feared litigation firms in the country.
This year, while two litigation powerhouses remained on the list (checkout our 2015 list here), two prominent law firms were edged out by other worthy victors. Another 15 firms were honored as “Awesome Opponents.”
So which law firms are the most feared when it comes to litigation in Nigeria? Let’s check out the latest rankings….
Without further ado, here are the new Fearsome Ten

1. Wole Olanipekun & Co
The biggest law firm in the country when it comes to election petition matters. Wole Olanipekun & Co is undisputedly the biggest litigation law firm in the country. Established in 1980, the firm is a fully serviced legal practice that has earned a reputation for consistently exceeding the expectations of clients. The firm has represented several past and serving governors, presidents and National Assembly members. The law firm is revered when it comes to election petition and constitutional law matters. 2. Rotimi Jacobs & Co
The Rotimi Jacobs & Co is a law firm established in 1997 and has since being in a very active practice. The law firms practice spans both solicitorship and advocacy and has it’s offices in Lagos and Abuja. The law firm is one of the most feared when it comes to criminal matters in Nigeria. The law firm handles most of the high profile case on behalf of the Federal Government and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). They handle criminal cases with so much ease and they are reputed to be one of the best. They handled several criminal cases in the year in review

3. Falana & Falana
Established in Nigeria since 1991. Falana & Falana’s Chambers is a leading law firm in constitutional law and human rights services. 4. Afe Babalola & Co

6. Yussuf Alli & Co
Yusuf Ali & Co., Ghalib Chambers, is a leading law firm of dedicated legal practitioners specialising in the practice of all aspects of corporate, commercial and financial law in Nigeria. The firm has offices in Ilorin, Abuja and Lagos. The law firm is headed by the famous Yussuf Alli SAN.

7. JK Gadzama & Partners
The firm is located in Abuja and is reputed to have handled many federal government cases. The firm is headed by Chief Joe Kyari Gadzama, a former presidential candidate at the Nigerian Bar Association 2016 Election. The law handled numerous civil and criminal cases in the year in review.

8. Rickey Tarfa & Co
Rickey Tarfa & Co. was established in 1988 with the foresight of ranking amongst the foremost law firms in Nigeria, by providing excellent and quality legal services to its numerous clients. The Firm commenced with three (3) Lawyers, and has now grown to over fifty (50) Lawyers, thirty (30) paralegal and supporting staff, with two (2) retired Judges as Consultants in Chambers.

9. Olujinmi & Akeredolu
Founded more than 30 years ago by a former Attorney General and Minister for Justice of the Federation, Chief Akin Olujinmi, SAN and the former President of the Nigerian Bar Association, Mr. Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, the law firm is a strict litigation law firm with more than 30 lawyers in Ibadan and Abuja.
