I can see Moscow taking over the Washington influence at the global arena.

Trump''s romance with Putin will soon put America, China and Germany on their knees.

Let Obama embrace democracy and say no to selling of weapons to Nigeria and other nations, Russia is ready to sell even in credits.

That's politics for you! grin

It's officially leading to the end of US as world power.

Students of international politics what do you think the US would make of this especially in times like this? wink

Russian made aircraft are not the best in the industry, British, French or American helicopter gunship would have been better

as for what America would make of it.. they still don't trust our military human right record, so I guess they don't give and "F"

I doubt if Nigeria cares. Our main oil deals are with China and India. The U.S under Trump is not going to be interested in anywhere other than the US. Russia and China will expand their arms and infrastructure capabilities to Africa.

The American Century is over.

French and American combat helicopters - basically the cobra are very expensive to maintain. In addition, Nigeria already has the MI series helicopter and retraining for this modern iteration is a breeze. NAF also needs surety that spares will continue to be available - America has been known to cut resupply of parts and ammo using the Leahy Act. Russian helicopters and spares are also available on the third party market.

This is an excellent deal and I am looking forward to seeing the 4G J10 Thunder aircraft over Nigerian airspace in the next three months.

@the emboldened, I had thought so too until Trumps overwhelming interest in Israel and Jerusalem, curtailing China's excesses by "courting" Taiwan, mounting pressure on N. Koreas nuclear test, opposing the dismantling of Guat. Prison, etc China and Russia for sure are regaining momentum but the Trump I know will never pursue an isolation policy!

Bro I doubt the emboldened submission above!
As for American reaction I was envisaging a kinda jealousy in this resurgence of the Cold War...and you know what that means. Btw, if America refuses to sell weapons to Nigeria, those other mentioned countries won't sell too because "they are all American colonies"

The multirole Mi-35M attack helicopter is a comprehensive modernisation of the Mi-24V. The Mi-35M was developed by the Mil Moscow Helicopter Plant, and has been series produced at Rostvertol since 2005.

The Mi-35M offers round the clock:
Combat use of guided and unguided weapons in regular and challenging climate conditions;
Operational for attack flights at altitudes of 10-25 m daytime and 50 m at night over land or water.

Some miscreants won't be happy our government was able to seal this type of deal with Russia.[/quot

shameless African zombie. You expect people to be happy that you are sourcing for arms at this age instead of manufacturing yours. Your type is the reason Africa is so backward

All the steps you have mentioned are still intended for the domestic market. The religious right and militaristic right. They are all intended to court the alt right conservative movement. They are not indicative of global policy. Have you heard him say anything about Africa - Gambia is on the news now as is Ivory coast. These are two time sensitive emergencies - not even a statement. What about South America? Or India Pakistan? These are areas that contain the bulk of the world's population as well as having the highest potential growth rates.

Time will tell. My feeling is that he will continue to court those who voted for him and these guys are focused on American jobs, immigration a law and order.

Let's see how it goes. It could all be quite different.
