FIFA Increases World Cup To 48 Teams by nghubs1(m): 2:14pm On Jan 10, 2017 |
Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) has increased the number of teams participating in World Cup from 32 to 48. The FIFA council unanimously agreed to the change which will take effect from 2026 world cup. The soccer governing body made the announcement on Tuesday via their twitter handle. The addition of 16 more teams will see a three-group format adopted and swifter progression to the knockout stages. http://nghubs.com/fifa-increases-world-cup-to-48/

It's a nice move. At least, Nigeria can easily qualify without depending on our usual 'best loser' statistics. Smaller unknown countries like BIAFRA might also qualify too. 1 Like |
