Ritaokafor:----for your information, Muslims don't bury corpses in mat or coffin! what you see there is a carrier that we use to lift the dead body to the graveyard. And because the carrier is made from flat metal, or sometimes the carrier is made from dry bamboo tree and the mat is placed under the carrier before the body is taken to the grave. The body will be removed from the carrier at the time the body is about to be placed in the bare ground of the grave, and the mat is not placed together with the dead body, is removed. Remember that Muslims bury the corpses only in a white piece of cloth, shroud on the dead body for decency otherwise our beloved prophet, (peace be upon him) said: "we came with nothing and we will leave this world without anything."
