killing of protesters is now a norm in Nigeria, this can only bring anarchy to the country.
I hope ECOWAS will send troops here too. Jammeh has not killed his people like this but he is branded a dictator.
Any where this government see nigerians gather in numbers either in I'D camps or protesting, the government either throw bomb or shoot live bullets.
What is the plan?
If it is not shiite Muslims, it is IDP camp or IPOB members. The only group they don't shoot at is FULANI HERDSMEN!
Why shoot live ammunition on unarmed protesters?
What happens to rubber bullets and teargas?
For all those that have lost their voices now, that see nothing wrong in the killing of Nigerians protesting unarmed but had a voice in the last administration to criticize and call for the resignation of GEJ for as little as teargas canister that touched Magnus Abe, let your conscience judge you.
It is IPOB, IDP and shiite Muslims today, no one knows who it would be tomorrow..

The needless loss of life was completely avoidable. IPOB should desist from further deliberate provocation of the Nigerian State and her armed forces.

This secessionist nonsense in its current form will clearly not be tolerated in anyway so any deliberate acts of civil disobedience with the potential to puncture public peace, should be halted or avoided to prevent recurrence.

May the souls of the fallen rest in peace

How an 80 something year old great grand-pa will be ordering his brutish army to shoot at innocent 18 year old protesters just because he wants to protect one Lugardian contraption called Nigeria beats me. Not once, not twice .., these protesters carry no weapons. Young boys have been dragged out from churches and murdered. Last time at Onitsha both the wounded and the dead were buried together inside the army barracks! In most cases there will be no provocation, just a simple match and an army convoy full of army personnels from the north and south west will pull over and open fire, then we will have the zomby crew competing among themselves here to praise the army for "teaching them a lesson". . This is murder. This is evil and this must be paid back. It wont end well for this country and buhari..

Are you insane? Which constitution in any part of the world prohibits people from having and exercising their rights to self determination? before Nigeria there was the Igbo nation so don't come here and preach that rubbish here, when this ipob guys start shooting back at your hopeless security forces, you already how the madness began...while you are at it, why not tell us how the security forces your useless country has never seem to show this much commitment and aggression when Fulani herdsmen are running amok? why shoot at innocent women and youths marching peacefully, I hope you die a slow and painful death...your fate is sealed this year.

There was nothing peaceful about the protest.

There are protests everyday in abuja against the govt. Nobody gets shot. But ipob always delude themselves that they have military might to fight govt. This is the end result

If you challenge security forces and disrupt public peace causing danger to lives and property, you will be killed. It is lawful. If u must protest, then do it in peace and make sure it is not hijacked by hoodlums.

Yes. People dont need to be harmed to get shot. The threat of imminent danger is sufficient to bring in law enforcement.

Out of millions gathered you lost 11, so it should be looked at on individual case basis.

Now listen, nobody is stopping anyone from their quest to self determination. Left to me I will join the campaign to allow Ibos leave with their 5 states because I don't see how their exit can have any negative effect on Nigeria.

However what will not be tolerated is the confrontational and largely thoughtless approach adopted by agitators including unauthorized provocative protests that often end up violent, and the desire of the secessionists to forcefully include non-ibo states in their agitation, thereby threatening the peace, serenity and security of the residents of such places.

Did Wike the chief security officer not ban IPOB protesters from agitating in his state?

Did Wike the chief security officer of Rivers State not recently state in clear terms that Nigeria's unity is non-negotiable?

I endorse this position.
The agitation in it current form can only be leading to avoidable confrontations with men of security forces.
IPOB should have a rethink of their method.

Buhari is goading the igbo.., angling to force the igbo into a situation where a war becomes inevitable... Astonished at the incredible recovery made after the last fiasco, he somehow thinks that a confrontation will provide his evil forces an opportunity to level the south east.. Buhari seems to have forgotten a lot quickly; the Igbo NEVER really waged a war against Nigeria or anybody. A coup happened, a progrom followed and the federal forces that are supposed to protect the innocent civilians from the butchery happening all over Nigeria ganged up with all sorts of tribalists to unleash an armed conflict on the east. Whatever that happened in the east was basically a series of quickly organised actions for self defense.. The igbo has not really decided to engage Nigeria. when the igbo man makes up his mind on that front, that war will be fought in such places as Sokoto and Kaduna and not in Onitsha and Portharcourt.., and when it is over, all of us in this country will learn one or two from it,,.. An intellectually starved fulani fundamentalist parading his empty self as the president of this bundle of embarrassment called Nigeria can not be spilling the innocent blood of igbo hardworking youths and expect everything to be okay..

IPOB do not represent Igbos, though they create such impression. Buhari is not goading Igbos, rather it's the igbos that have promised not to give the president a breathing space right from day one of his presidency.
After 4 or at most 8 years Buhari will go but Nigeria would still remain.
All these unnecessary provocative actions will not bring about a positive end.

And this is why well meaning Nigerians should rise up and STOP IMMEDIATELY the ruthless fulanisation of Nigerias security forces. The Custom Service, The Immigration, The Army, The Police, The AIrforce, The Navy , The Civil Defence, etc.. I made a post on this issue before and one wayward moderator yanked it off, but the fact is that slowly, before our very eyes, the men you meet at 'checkpoints' (which are more common in the east) are looking more like people from Niger republic than Nigerians. What is happening? Why should this nonsense be tolerated? They seem to have a different orientation and indoctrination and will quickly reach for the trigger just to mow down any discontent. Who are these strange people?? It is not supposed to be so. It must be a Nigerian army with adequate national representation so that at moments like this, commanding officers and men alike will be more cautious. The time to restructure Nigerias security forces is now! Nowhere in the world is the coercive instrument of the state imbued with such rights to kill the innocent. Buhari belongs to The Hague..

Believe me Nigeria has no military, the bunch of people there will take out their aggression and frustration on innocent citizens.
The same army that became refugees in Niger and Cameroon is incapable of fighting an armed ipob but the innocent citizens in the East will suffer

If you do anyhow in any Nigerian city, you will receive it hot, as long as you still share from oil revenue from SS and VAT and tax revenue from the SW.
