I see. Apparently, that's even a newer model car, with advanced safety features. I'm sure the result would be different with, say, a camry 1999 (pencil/tiny light) or 98 Honda Accord. You get my drift?

I mistakenly did it with a 2000 Camry. Speed was about 110km/h on airport road Abuja. Going up a little incline, I'd say the tranny was in the 4th gear as I had kick up to overtake another vehicle... Then, one mumu ran into the road right under a pedestrian bridge.
In my confusion at that moment, I depressed the gear shift lever and moved into reverse. I think the tires changed rotation or came to a total stop cos I heard a screeching sound. I moved back to D instantly.
It's been 2 years and my gearbox remains fine.

It's a bad idea to try this deliberately.
